Upon check-in the front office would not permit us each to use our own credit card to pay for our individual rooms.
Then upon entering our rooms (we had booked 2 rooms) one room had a strong odor of smoke (it smelled like it could have been cigar smoke). The heater the bathroom was completely broken, and the freezer in the fridge was clogged with ice. Both of our rooms were also near the street which became noisy at about 4:30 AM each morning. There is no housekeeping and yet they provide supplies (coffee etc) only for on night even though they knew we were staying for three. The only positive thing I can say was that the rooms were clean. For the price we paid, we were expecting better service and overall quality in a hotel.
I bought this to the attention of the hotel management through the third party site that asked us how our check in had been. On our second day someone (Viviana?) called me in response to this and stated that they "did not want us to leave unhappy" and gave some indication that would make us "right" in some manner which I thought kindly. However when I brought the list of issues down to a different gentleman who manned the front desk on the day we checked out he didn't even apologize but instead wished us a safe drive home and said that if we come back for another stay he may give us a discount. Honestly we felt insulted by that.
If they want us to give them another chance they ought to have discounted the rooms for us on this stay - not the next.
