"Highlight of this hotel is the rooftop sauna that you can book for a private steam and cold plunge. I booked it during the day, but I’m sure it’s even more spectacular at night."

"This was my first time staying at a ryokan. I had a wonderful time. The view was simply amazing. The dinner and breakfast meals were 10 out of 10 for presentation and taste. The baths were equally refreshing. The only thing I could critique is the bed was a little minimal compared to western beds I'm used to. I still got a great nights rest and would come back in a heartbeat."

"Delicious breakfast & meals (I recommend the Sukiyaki!), a beautifully maintained grounds in a picturesque location, with the friendliest staff - we LOVED our time here and highly recommend it!"

"The room was very clean. We were given access earlier than check in time to store our luggage. Amenities provided in the room were excellent. The location of the property was five minutes walk from two subway lines. There are many restaurants nearby and a grocery store within walking distance."

Wonderful experience. We experienced a lovely tea ceremony. The hostess was very familiar with the area. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic Kyoto experience

The service, room, and dinner and breakfast were all first class. It’s a 10 experience.
The lobby coffee machine could be changed to Nespresso. Couldn’t work it.

Amazing place to stay in Nara, located right in the Park but in a quiet area.
Delicious traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, they were even able to accommodate vegetarian requests.
Sleeping on the tatami was special!!
Very attentive and kind staff, the only note is that they don't speak English so make sure to have your phone with you with Google translate, especially at the restaurant.
The matcha tea ceremony was cute but very rushed (10 minutes in total).

A top notch experience with amazing staff and service. Exceptional rooms and beds. The only negative, and I’m searching here, would be the carpet in the common area needs to be cleaned. I highly recommend!

This hot springs hotel was absolutely fantastic! The rooms and hot springs baths were extremely clean. The staff were more than accommodating and took the time to know each guest and to learn their preferences. The hot springs were so relaxing, I don't think I've ever had a more enjoyable vacation than this. The food was also to die for! Just a heads up though, for those who book the private hot springs, there is a hot springs tax in addition to what you pay for the hotel which comes to 150 yen...

Absolutely stunning ryokon in a tiny little mountain town just outside kyoto. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs, even preparing breakfast and transport to the station an hour early so we could catch our next train to tokyo. The ryokon itself was absolutely gorgeous, nestled away in the trees next to a mountain stream, it is a breathtaking picturesque view like something out of a ghibli film. The rooms were quite spacious and very traditional japanese style and the...

The Morning prayers was a fantastic experience. We got a chance to participate after official service was completed. They took the time to explain the temple and Buddha. I have zero complaints. The only thing that wasn’t expected is the heater in the room die in the middle of the night . My opinion remains unchanged despite the setback. The staff really goes above and beyond to help with anything. I felt like I was received like family for overnight stay. If I was to come back to Koyasan I’ll...

Location was fantastic essentially a part of Nishiki market yet quiet and peaceful. Within 5-7 minute walk to train station and bus stop.
Facilities were fantastic. Room was simple, beautiful, well maintained and nicely appointed. Only small issue was a strange smell in our room entrance... perhaps from the AC unit? Not sure, but room was clean and spacious.
Best part about the ryokan was our hosts and the breakfast. They were amazingly friendly, extremely helpful for touring...

Fantastic place. I could not recommend it more highly. It was not cheap but the service, staff, facilities and overall experience can't be beat. Even if you are on a budget it is worth splurging for one night here!
