"Great hotel, so-so location....."
This hotel was fantastic. It would be fabulous if it were located in a better location, closer to old Madrid. We stayed there as we were attending a Real Madrid game. It was close to the metro, and the amenities and staff were great. It is located in a quite, residential neighborhood with no nightlife and few restaurant choices.

"Brilliant old world charm"
The Wellington is charming. I based myself there for a four day business trip, and it was perfect. It is a landmark to the Madrid business community, and I held many meetings in the lobby and restaurant. My room was small by contemporary standards but spotlessly clean, absolutely silent, and perfectly maintained.

Hotel frequented by business travelers on weekdays and families on weekends. Clean. I think he needs to improve on some details. The shower is too high for some people and can move with the water pressure.

"Special anniversary treat, out of this world."
Well this hotel was the second one that I booked, having bypassed it initially as maybe being too pricey. However it was the best thing that could have happened when the first hotel told us their spa would be closed. That was our cue to pay the extra and go with this hotel. We had wanted a hotel with a lovely room, spa facilities, good location, for our special anniversary treat. And boy we certainly got that at Hospes Puerta de Alcala. The whole stay was amazing, the reception staff are wonderful, all of them, they went out of their way to say hello and we're always available to help. Check in was delightful, drinks on arrival and everything in room explained. Location on the Puerta de Alcala is great, thought room may be noisy overlooking this but not at all. Two doors onto balconies to watch the world go by. We were very fortunate to have great weather while we were in Madrid, sunny days, chilly evenings but would certainly go again at this time of year. Sat on the terrace for a meal on the first evening, great service, only negative was lack of wine list. However lovely wine and cocktails. Spent an afternoon in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna. I also took the opportunity to have the free welcome massage, and added it to an aroma massage. Very relaxing, just what I needed. Would recommend. Madrid is a great city and we will be back, didn't see another hotel anywhere on our travels that we would rather have stayed at. City tour is a must. Didn't want to come home.

Pleasantly surprised with excellent facilities and service. Received the best service of any previous stay in Madrid at the best facilities. I'm not easily impressed but Eurostar Towers has a new fan, and they certainly earned it. Congratulations!
