« This is a guest house beside the owner's place. The room was clean and spacious and the weather at the end of March was so comfortable that we didn't have to switch on the AC at night. However, it did get very hot in the day so we opened the windows to let the hot air out. Also, a few very cute and friendly cats also live on the property. Loved the place! »

« Pros: I liked the location. There was easy access to Puna, Volcano NP, and Hilo. The owner gave me a 5 minute spiel on the property. Everything was in working order. Cons: I stayed at 4 different VRBO properties during my stay on the Big Island. All property owners except this one provided directions, check in instructions and check out instructions. You won't get that. And the directions are not intuitive at all. So I will do the property owner's job for him and hopefully save you frustration...

« If you are looking for a cheaper place to sleep and you are by yourself I think it’s ok! I stayed with my boyfriend and thought there was zero privacy. Walls were paper thin right next to some other rooms that had dogs barking. The bed made a very loud noise every time we moved to side. For hot water we had to keep the water very low and when my bf took a shower the water got cold. but again if you want to stay close to the volcano and want something cheap there are not too many options there...

« Fair warning to all travelers, screen shot the instructions to get into the cottage before you leave Pāhoa as the reception is spotty at best. I had to drive all the way back to Pahoa to get the information onto my phone. Cottage is quaint and small but delivers what was Expected. Clean, ac worked quite well, all the amenities you Would need. Beach across the way is an optional clothing beach so be aware if you have kids lol. "Me and my daughter had a very good experience at the Volcano Forest Inn. It is literally at 5 minute drive of the entrance of the Volcano National Park. Which allow us to visit the volcano easily. The rooms was pretty big, confortable and clean. The communication with the owner and our arrival was easy. We were warned by email that the weather could be chilly because of the rain forest. We were ok, but everyone should be aware that it was about 12 to 15 Celsius early mourning. Also there is a cleaning fee of 80$ that is not mentioned in Expedia web site. Overall, for the price, I would highly recommend this hotel."
