"This is a great place to stay to get away from it all! Close enough to Hilo to get back into the all of you want. We also wound up driving north around the island to the west side a bit more than towards Hilo. Just sitting on the porch and looking out at the sky & ocean was so peaceful. Wish we had better weather. Got 1.5 sunrises and one night starry sky out of 7 nights but, that was only the fault of Mother Nature. Still so peaceful in the rain. The cottage itself is fine for two people, tho...

"My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in the Pineapple Cottage at Hulili Farm. While the location made sight-seeing around the island easy, we often opted to stay in and enjoy the sound of the rain on the roof and the sway of the hanging bed on the lanai. We hope to come back again soon!"

It is about 40 minutes from Hilo, the last 5 miles from the house consists of literally a roller coaster of a road (paved and fun) but the last mile to the house is not far from rock climbing (5mph tops, suv required, no cars) The property is largely unkept, but the inside of the house is well taken care of and includes most of what you'd need. "It is charming in a rustic way. It was smaller than we thought and the only heat in the living room and kitchen was a wood burning stove so we spent a lot of time and energy trying to stay warm. The first 2 days there was no live TV but a new spectrum box was brought in. Theresa, the property manager was very accommodating."

"This is a great place to stay! Walking distance to the beach! Beautiful View from the bedroom and lanai! Comfortable bed! Everything that you could need for cooking, snorkeling, and just enjoying your stay without having to drive anywhere if you don't want to! I would definitely stay here again!"
