"Meliá Caribe was just ok. The staff was super friendly, the resort did a great job with providing transportation around the resort, the rooms were cleaned daily, the pools were nice. Luckily our room was close to the pool and beach and we had a second floor room with a high roof. The resort has a ton of restaurants but reservations are impossible to get, at least in the restaurants that are edible. We had to eat at the buffets for almost every meal until we couldn’t take it anymore. We went off resort to a highly rated restaurant and the food was FINALLY enjoyable. Truly - the food was some of the worst I’ve had. And I do understand that with all inclusive resorts, the food isn’t high quality. Over all - we won’t be back. It wasn’t the worst resort we’ve been to, but there was nothing special about this one. It was a disappointing food experience and restaurant reservation experience we’ve ever had at a resort. "

"Very, clean and modern place with pool and veranda. The host was a bit late giving us check in info basically whdn we were on the way to the apartment but his communication was better after. We lost power on the second day but he got it back after awhile. I wish there were more cooking supplies like oil and seasoning. There is a restaurant and store nearby. "

"The beach area was our favourite spot. We did enjoy the pool and found that even though the chairs in the morning always had the mad dash we could typically still find some chairs through the day. We had the best dinner at Mar De Sol and Quimera however a very poor experience at Muoi . The staff were either fantastic or inattentive. So if you had the good staff it was a great experience. The online reservation system was a bit annoying since we had to wait 45 minutes in a line to book but we were able to book for the week. They seem short staffed and with additional staff support I am sure the service would be amazing. Also the lobby bar was an especially excellent experience. I have never been to a lobby area so entertaining at night. They had great shows and it was the place to meet with friends "

"Please be aware of our experience during our stay at Paradisus Grand Cana from March 11–16. Our 14-month-old daughter became sick after dinner one evening with symptoms consistent with suspected food poisoning, including vomiting followed by two days of diarrhea. Later in the stay, both my wife and I also became ill within hours after eating, with similar symptoms overnight. This resulted in multiple nights of little to no sleep and extended time confined to our room caring for our sick child. While we understand that illness can occur while traveling, the timing and pattern of symptoms were very concerning. We reported the issue during our stay and followed up afterward, providing documentation, but no compensation or meaningful resolution was offered. In addition, my wife’s tomato allergy was not consistently respected, making some meals inedible, and a personal item was lost during arrival without resolution. The resort has nice amenities, but based on our experience, this was not the level of care or response we expected—especially when traveling with a young child."

"We stayed here and paid extra for the Preferred Club, expecting better service and an upgraded experience, but it was very disappointing. Customer service was inconsistent—only a few staff members were helpful. At one point, my young kids were wet and cold at the pool and there were no towels available. After asking multiple employees and waiting, I had to go to the lobby myself to get towels. Restaurants were overcrowded despite being “exclusive.” We waited about an hour to be seated and another hour for food. Service was slow and inattentive, and at hibachi we were rushed out within 45 minutes. Food was just average. Beach is beautiful, but no drink service and no real exclusive area for Preferred Club guests (despite what’s advertised). Entertainment is limited and starts too late for kids (around 9 PM). Room cleanliness and maintenance were also issues—we had to repeatedly call for housekeeping, and our outdoor tub never worked despite multiple requests. Overall, we paid a lot expecting a premium experience and did not receive it. The best part of the trip was simply spending time with family—not the resort itself. I would not recommend upgrading to Preferred Club here."
