Excellent stay. Beautiful room with a view of the Guelph and Pacific Ocean into the rainforest, room 9. There are 17 rooms in total, the last being 225 stairs away. Lots of wildlife walking to and from your room. The hikes are well guided. The beach is a short walk downhill 10 minutes away. Close to everything, very clean and excellent service.

This hotel is situated high in the mountains in the middle of the rainforest. Definitely a great place to stay for anyone looking to be a little secluded. Renting a car is a must as there is nothing around but we drove down to the little town every day to grab coffee, lunch, dinner, whatever. This is got to be one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled all over the world staying in some very nice boutique hotels in: Amsterdam, France, Bali, North Wales, Portugal, Venice and Spain. I find that most boutique hotels are good at one thing and not other things, where Hotel Plaza Yara truly seems to deliver in all areas. It was a very nice experience staying at this hotel. The staff was super friendly, there was a nice welcome drink upon arrival, the breakfast was delicious and satisfying, the room was very clean and comfortable, and although the beach is rocky (can't swim in it), it was beautiful to watch the sunset. We received an upgrade to rom 311 which was the honeymoon suite. It was an expansive villa with three levels plus a private rooftop patio with an outdoor shower and bar sink. The jacuzzi tub on the third level was enormous and took a long time to fill. The beds (two bedrooms) were luxurious and the nicest we’ve found in CR. Wow, this place is on another level. I have never had such amazing service, food and surroundings. Arno is there to make sure every need is met. He is so knowledgeable and friendly.
