USB charger at the monitor was not working, however I was able to use the power outlet under the seat. Somehow I didn't know there was a power outlet under the seat- I couldn't see on the display menu to show me this power outlet. I asked the staff if I could change seats and she told me there was an outlet there. (The outlet doesn't have a USB outlet however, I had my adapter so this saved me). I thought this issue was important to mention because I'm recovering from a concussion and am sensitive to noise- so I brought noise cancelling headphones that needed charging. Its a lot more relaxing with the headphones on.

How to survive the flight to Vancouver?
We’ve pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you’ll be breezing through the airport and discovering Vancouver before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:

  • The trick to having an amazing flight experience is to plan ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring items that’ll help pass the time, like your laptop or a thrilling book. It’s also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a spare set of clothes.

Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

  • While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, are also banned from the cabin.

What to wear on a flight:

  • The goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer yourself up in natural-fiber clothing and remember to pack a cardigan just in case you get cold. Opt for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your main luggage.
  • Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There’s lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear compression socks, stay well hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.

How to get through airport security fast when flying to Vancouver?
It’s all about being organized. We’ve rounded up some handy tips and tricks for a stress-free trip through security. Watch out Vancouver, here you come:

  • Be sure to keep your ID and boarding pass within easy reach. They’re the first things you’ll be asked for by security.
  • Next up is the X-ray machine. Remove anything metal on you that is likely to set off the alarm. This includes things like earphones or headphones, as well as your coat or jacket. They’ll need to be placed on the conveyor belt for screening.
  • All your electronic gadgets, including your phone and tablet, will also need to be scanned separately.
  • Traveling with your favorite hand and nail cream? As long as it’s in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it’s stored in a clear zip-lock bag, you can bring it with you in your carry-on bag.
  • Lightweight sneakers are a good footwear choice as you’re less likely to be asked to remove them when passing through security. Hiking boots and other heavy shoes are usually subjected to extra screening.
  • Airlines won’t allow any sharp or pointed objects in your carry-on baggage. If you need to bring these kinds of items, pack them in your checked luggage.
