• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as mandatory quarantining.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to temporarily lower your mask for ID purposes.
• Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• You're permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. This will need to be taken out for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your belt, phone and wallet into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.
