It's a practical area that offers a glimpse into everyday life on the island. For families, Anna's Retreat is a good base due to its accessibility. It's relatively central on the north side of the island, meaning you're a short drive from beaches like Mandahl Bay Beach and Magens Bay, which are known for their calm waters suitable for children. The best time to visit Mandal is during the dry season, from December to May, when the weather is consistently sunny and pleasant.During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 24°C to 30°C, with lower humidity. This makes it ideal for enjoying all outdoor activities, from relaxing on the beaches to exploring the island's natural beauty. It's also the peak season, so while it's the best time for weather, it's also when you'll find more visitors and potentially higher prices for flights and accommodation. For those looking to avoid the busiest crowds while still enjoying good weather, the shoulder months of May and early June offer a great balance. The weather remains largely favourable, with warm temperatures and less rain than the summer months, but with fewer tourists than the peak winter season. You might also find slightly better deals on flights and hotels during this period. If you're planning a trip between June and November, be aware that this is the wet season, which also coincides with hurricane season. While you can still have lovely days, there's a higher chance of rain showers and tropical storms.
