2/10 Terrible

"Our 4 day / 3 night anniversary stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort was extremely disappointing from start to finish. On our very first morning, we woke up to a flooded hotel room. Our clothes, luggage, and personal belongings were soaked. Instead of immediately helping resolve the issue, the staff gave us a hard time when we requested assistance getting our clothes and luggage dried. We were promised a new room right away, yet it took nearly 8 hours before we were finally moved. This completely ruined the plans we had made for our anniversary day. Sitting around waiting most of the day while dealing with water damage to our belongings is not how anyone expects to spend a vacation in Hawaii. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability or customer service afterward. No compensation, apology gesture, waived fees, or any attempt to make things right was offered. Then, upon checkout, we were still charged additional resort and parking fees despite everything we had dealt with during our stay. For the price paid and the reputation of this resort, the level of service and response to a major issue like a flooded room was unacceptable. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, especially for what was supposed to be a special anniversary trip."

"We couldn't have asked for a better home base for our Kauai getaway, and this Kapa'a condo delivered on every front.The updated furnishings are beautiful — modern, tasteful, and comfortable. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, and there was lots of space for our family of 4 adults.What sets this condo apart is how well-equipped it is, not only in the kitchen, but also an impressive selection of beach gear: cooler, umbrellas, chairs, and everything else you'd need to spend a day on the water.The ocean-side setting is stunning and the coastal walking path was great for morning and evening walks/runs.Location-wise, Kapa'a is hard to beat. We found it easy to reach both the North Shore and the South Shore without feeling like we were spending our vacation in the car. Restaurants and shops, were all within easy reach.Betsy was great to communicate with, and we would absolutely stay here again. We recommend this condo anyone looking to experience Kauai at its best!"

"Pros: Fantastic AC Great pool The offer aloe vera if you get burnt Great location Cons: Transphobic receptionist. (Just one, everyone else seemed very nice. I'm not trans, this person just felt the need to tell me.) Coffee maker infested with bugs. Room in need of repair, generally clean though. *Parking lot will flood if there's a lot of rain, make sure you park as far away from the front desk as possible."

"The whole vibe of seeing the ocean at the back of the hotel, and watching the sunrise from the room. Most of the staff were good. I requested for early check in but room was given firmly at 3 PM. Breakfast is just okay. The bathroom sink can be cleaner."
