I want to start off by saying I didn't expect much when I booked here. We just needed a room big enough for all of us for one night before heading to the other side of the island. Had I known what a hidden gem this was we would have booked more nights! After a long flight we were warmly welcomed by the staff, almost like we were friends coming to stay. We were given beautiful leis, offered fresh bananas on the stem, candy at the front desk and sweet cats to play with. This property is unique in that it is in a rural neighborhood(with roosters, chickens and peacocks wandering the property), not a commercial area. We were then told about a singer that would be playing out by the pool and given directions on where we could pick up food. What a way to spend our first evening in Kauai, eating, drinking and playing in the pool while listening to fantastic music. So relaxing! The next morning they even put out fresh fruit from the local farmers market along with coffee and yogurts and a few other items. I will say that if you are looking for glamour this is not the place. But if you want relaxation, character, genuine people, well kept grounds and a really cool, laid back Kauai experience this is it. We will definitely be staying at Kauai Inn when we return and we want to thank them for making our experience one we will never forget!!
