This is a beautiful place right on the water and the pool area is lovely and lit with tiki torches in the evening. It is located midway between the north and south shores so it is easy to explore both areas of the island. The beach in front of the island is beautiful, but has a reef that would make it dangerous for swimming.

Location of this hotel is ideal, we were able to explore both sides of Kauai very easily. Hotel was quiet and room was big enough, clean and nice. A little outdated, the hotel could use some updates. But overall, we were very pleased with the room and the hotel.

The room was very clean, each day. In general food and amenities are ok-ish but not for the price tax they charge. It's really little outdated and low 3 star hotel. Views are great to watch the sunrise but you can't swim by the hotel - need to drive to a beach nearby.

The ocean view from the room!! Awesome! We weren't that impressed with the food at Crooked Surf. It could have been better!! Would love to have Happy Hour specials with reduced prices!! The Luau could have been more REAL and authentic with pig cooking underground!

Our room facing the beach was great. Excellent layout of the pool/hot tub openly facing the ocean/horizon with no obstructions. The amenities are nice, open concept restaurant facing the ocean, the breakfast restaurant had great options (both the buffet and the a la carte). We loved the coffee bar downstairs as well. The staff were all very nice and friendly. The resort also offers bikes (included in the price) - the bike path is very accessible from the hotel. Other benefits: short drive from the airport, short drive from neighbouring towns. When booking, I was debating between this and some of the hotels in Poipu (including the Poipu Sheraton) - Poipu options are more expensive and presumably nicer, but we were happy we made this choice - this is a quality hotel/resort for a reasonable price relative to the Poipu options.
