In the heart of Copake Falls, this home was part of the original company town associated with the Copake Iron Works. The original iron gate on the property stands a reminder to this bygone era. The interior of the home exudes this 19th century charm, but with all the modern amenities. The designer kitchen and bathrooms have all been recently updated. You'll find plenty of space for your group to spread out and enjoy. Outdoors you'll find a well appointed back yard with a fire pit and outdoor dining area. While the front of the home features an enclosed front porch. Activity choices abound. The Harlem Valley Rail Trail runs near the home, and bike rentals are available. Skiing at Catamount Mountain is mere minutes away. Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Jacob's Pillow, world renown for dance are both less than 35 miles away. You can easily set out on foot from the house for hiking around Bash Bish and Mount Washington. There are so many activities, you will already be preparing for your return visit. Detailed Information on Spaces (See Floorplans in Photos): Main Level: Sitting Room: Pull Out Sofa Bed, Bathroom w/ Low Threshold Walk-In Shower Upper Level: Bedroom 1: Queen Bed Bedroom 2: Full Bed Bedroom 3: Twin Bed All spaces on the upper level share a bathroom w/ clawfoot tub and attached sprayer. Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire property including back and front yards. Support During Your Stay: StayBettr Vacation Rentals manages this property remotely, but we have a local contact who can assist with any issues that may arise during your stay. The Neighborhood: Copake Falls is near numerous Taconic and Berkshire Mountain activities. Biking, hiking, and skiing abound in the area. The Harlem Valley Rail Trail provides miles of car free cycling, and Catamount Mountain offers a full service ski resort experience. The Bash Bish Fall trails are popular year round. You are a short drive to antiquing in Millerton or Hudson. Grocery's and other essentials are a quick 10 minute drive in Hillsdale. Getting Around: We recommend having car for your stay. Taxis are available, but ride sharing services are more sparse. Rental car services are available in Hudson and Poughkeepsie. The Wassaic Metro North Station is approximately 25 minutes drive from the house. The trip from NY Grand Central to Wassaic is about 2h15m. Train access is great if you have members of your group who need to arrive/depart at different times. Things To Know: You will be required to sign a rental agreement after the booking is confirmed. Full terms of the agreement are available on request. Additionally, you will be required to upload an approved government identification card or passport when you complete the rental agreement. If you have questions about either of these requirements please message us prior to booking. Rentals of the property requires a $500 security deposit via credit card, or to pay a $70 fee to waive the security deposit. Up to two dogs may stay at the property. The first dog is includes in the nightly rate. The second dog incurs a $25/night fee. No more than 4 cars allowed.
