"From check in to check out, our experience at Anantara was so positive! We arrived to AMS super early, and we got so lucky they accommodated us and had a room ready! We took advantage of their amazing buffet breakfast. This is NOT to be missed! It’s a great way to start your day, the have literally everything and do a wonderful job replenishing and keeping spaces nice and orderly, all their staff are wonderful. Rooms were very nice size, with daily stocked water and amenities. Every single employee we passed or interacted with were so friendly and helpful. The lobby and on site restaurant and bar were beautiful. The location is extremely central to all public transport and main zones you’d want to explore. While we didn’t LOVE Dan Square because it felt very touristy, I’d avoid any restaurants right outside of hotel!!! However there was a grocery store steps away, we loved our evening treats from Rene’s right down the bloc and there were plenty of late night snack options! Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel. "

"Not the best of starts. First room given was very bad - heating didn't work, room was old and tatty. A complaint to the management was handled very well however with both managers dealing with the situation to the highest standard. We were given a new room (which was a lot more modern), and given complimentary breakfast for the rest of our stay. Mistakes happen, but staff fixed it."

"The location was central and easy to get to - a key requirement for a short stay. Nice cafe room though. Breakfast was not included in our rate but coffee and tea were available. Comfortable seating area. The front desk staff at both check in and out were great. No problem leaving and retrieving baggage. Directtions. Whatever. Set expectations appropriately. It's a budget hotel in Amsterdam. The room will be small and the stairs will be steep. The stairs down to our room were a bit treacherous - more like something you'd see in a submarine than a hotel but again, not really a surprise. Beyond that though, the room was snug but clean and comfortable. No complaints for a short stay. Good bathroom and shower. Overall a good value for basic accommodations in a fantastic location."
