"This is a very cute, quaint, historic facility with a lot of charm and great staff. It has its compromises—the floors squeak, the room had a window but no AC, and I am sure I missed a disclosure but it turns out I booked a room with a shared toilet and shower down the hall. For the price, it was great, and for the age and design of the building, the owners have done a great job keeping it up. Everything was clean and well-cared-for in its old world way. "

"Very welcoming entry area, room was very clean and the space was very efficiently organized so that even as a small room, it had a full bathroom with tub and shower, including a separate sink/mirror plus another separate area with counter and mirror, with a tiny pod coffee maker. The bed was comfy with many pillows to choose from; and there was a desk with chair for working. The only flaw was the heater/A/C which kept running about every 15 minutes. "

"This is our 5th time staying at this hotel. It is a very convenient location in San Francisco to get to lots of different theaters, restaurants, bars, etc, but it generally seems a little bit safer and quieter than the heart of the Tenderloin. The hotel has some great history, the rooms all have lots of character, but are very clean and beds are comfy. Staff is excellent - helpful and friendly, all of them, from front desk to housekeeping. There is a free breakfast of good pastries...
