I have found that Omni hotels can be relied upon across America. Staff are always very helpful, facilities are excellent and rooms are very comfortable. The SF Omni was no exception.

"Close to all the sightseeing places"
The room was very nice, very clean. The staff was great. However, the hotel was undergoing major renovations. There was no lobby, no place to sit and wait for friends joining us, the jackhammering outside our window was terrible and it went on all afternoon, every afternoon. No nap for us!! Wish we had known before we booked that this was the case. Should be beautiful once all renovations are complete.

The hotel pays tribute to locally-grown bands, with musical motifs throughout the lodging experience. The location is great, at the corner of California and Powell, right next to a cable car stop and a walk from Union Square's retail shops and restaurants. It's also located next to the Intercontinental--may I suggest Top of the Mark, located on the 19th floor, for cocktails and tapas. While the service and room were great, the initial price tag was a teaser, as they charged an additional mandatory $20/night (+ tax) for access to Wi-Fi, the fitness center and other "perks." In addition, parking (if needed) was an additional $52/night (+ tax).

"Airport hotel"
We stayed in 3 different hotels on our trip between San Francisco and Anaheim, and this was by far the best. The rooms are updated and comfortable. Free continental breakfast was delicious, and included oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, potatoes, and a waffle maker. Gourmet coffee as well. We only stayed there one night but would definitely stay again. Very convenient to SFO.

"Excellent Hotel with Spacious Rooms"
Overall, this hotel was great. The GOOD: - Room was very spacious! - There was plenty of furniture in the room, so we were very comfortable with our stuff all over the place. - The hotel lobby looks very nice! The MEH: - Although the front desk service wasn't rude, I feel like they could have been more friendly. Perhaps she had a long day. The BAD: - They happened to have an event for young persons downstairs, and it was very noisy. We had to wade through lots of people to get to our elevator. I believe this affected the parking situation as well (it was super crowded). Fortunately, we didn't hear anything from our room. - They didn't provide shampoo in our room (mistakes happen) but when we called the front desk, it still didn't come. We had to call again, and even then it took quite a while (at least fifteen minutes) before someone came to our door. And the person who brought it didn't seem apologetic about it (although he wasn't rude). In summary, we chose a bad day to stay at this hotel (I don't think the event was the hotel's fault), and there was a little mishap regarding shampoo (I don't know how often this happens). But the room itself was very decent, and the premises was very nice.

"Nice Hotel in Japantown"
We enjoyed the wine reception in the late afternoon. The lobby is a social place. The restaurant on the first floor is very good and unlike most hotel restaurants is very reasonably priced. We had to change rooms the first night because the heat did not work, they were very nice and helpful making the change. A minor inconvenience. It is a fun neighborhood to explore, some nice bars and restaurants in walking distance. Parking was $39/night.

When it comes to SF beaches, it all boils down to your style preferences.

For an all-around good option, check out Ocean Beach. This stretch of sand is the largest of the beaches in the city and gives you a distinct feeling of freedom from the hustle and bustle of town. This beach is also a favourite of surfers if you want to hop on a board, or perhaps just watch the pros slice through the water. Desire something a little more scandalous? Make your way to Baker Beach. Considered the “nude beach” of the city, this side of the shore is a favourite amongst bold locals. Prefer something a little more PC? Head down to East Beach, nicknamed China Beach. This spot is considered the most family friendly, as the waters are shallow and there are lifeguards on duty during the summer. This sandy area also includes grills and picnic benches, if you’re looking for a place to BBQ before hitting the waves.

Once you’re ready to wash the sand off, head back to your cozy San Francisco beach hotel. Whether you want a spot right along the shore or you’d like a place more inland, book right here on Expedia.ca for the top discounts on hotels in San Francisco.

No matter if you want a morning beach run in the fog or an afternoon sunbathing session, count on San Francisco beaches to offer you what you need.
