"Close to all the sightseeing places"
The room was very nice, very clean. The staff was great. However, the hotel was undergoing major renovations. There was no lobby, no place to sit and wait for friends joining us, the jackhammering outside our window was terrible and it went on all afternoon, every afternoon. No nap for us!! Wish we had known before we booked that this was the case. Should be beautiful once all renovations are complete.

I have found that Omni hotels can be relied upon across America. Staff are always very helpful, facilities are excellent and rooms are very comfortable. The SF Omni was no exception.

The hotel pays tribute to locally-grown bands, with musical motifs throughout the lodging experience. The location is great, at the corner of California and Powell, right next to a cable car stop and a walk from Union Square's retail shops and restaurants. It's also located next to the Intercontinental--may I suggest Top of the Mark, located on the 19th floor, for cocktails and tapas. While the service and room were great, the initial price tag was a teaser, as they charged an additional mandatory $20/night (+ tax) for access to Wi-Fi, the fitness center and other "perks." In addition, parking (if needed) was an additional $52/night (+ tax).

"Excellent Hotel with Spacious Rooms"
Overall, this hotel was great. The GOOD: - Room was very spacious! - There was plenty of furniture in the room, so we were very comfortable with our stuff all over the place. - The hotel lobby looks very nice! The MEH: - Although the front desk service wasn't rude, I feel like they could have been more friendly. Perhaps she had a long day. The BAD: - They happened to have an event for young persons downstairs, and it was very noisy. We had to wade through lots of people to get to our elevator. I believe this affected the parking situation as well (it was super crowded). Fortunately, we didn't hear anything from our room. - They didn't provide shampoo in our room (mistakes happen) but when we called the front desk, it still didn't come. We had to call again, and even then it took quite a while (at least fifteen minutes) before someone came to our door. And the person who brought it didn't seem apologetic about it (although he wasn't rude). In summary, we chose a bad day to stay at this hotel (I don't think the event was the hotel's fault), and there was a little mishap regarding shampoo (I don't know how often this happens). But the room itself was very decent, and the premises was very nice.

"Nice Hotel in Japantown"
We enjoyed the wine reception in the late afternoon. The lobby is a social place. The restaurant on the first floor is very good and unlike most hotel restaurants is very reasonably priced. We had to change rooms the first night because the heat did not work, they were very nice and helpful making the change. A minor inconvenience. It is a fun neighborhood to explore, some nice bars and restaurants in walking distance. Parking was $39/night.

Beautiful "yesteryear" lobby, lovely room, fabulous bathroom. The Serrano is near Union Square, and close to everything - great location. The highlight of each morning was relaxing in the very inviting lobby with the most awesome coffee!

There are so many things to do in San Francisco, it’s difficult to know where to start.

So why not begin with a place where you can do a lot of things at once? We’re talking about Fisherman’s Wharf. Located on the upper east side of the city, Fisherman’s Wharf hosts a number of attractions, including shopping, dining, restaurants, a carousel, and the Aquarium of the Bay. Where else can your kids learn about the local sea life and enjoy some clam chowder in a sourdough bowl? You can stick with the animal theme and head 10 km across town to the San Francisco Zoo. Polar bears, lemurs, and wolverines, oh my! Your little ones will love the critters, and you’ll love the zoo’s beautiful layout.

Want more family fun in San Francisco? The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, located on the northern end of the city, is full of antique sailing ships and exhibits to explore. Learn how to set square-rigged sails on the Balclutha, or go for a jaunt around the bay on the schooner Alma. After a long day of exploration and excitement in San Francisco, a family hotel is the perfect place to retreat for some R&R. If you’re visiting in the winter, we recommend booking a hotel near Union Square, so you can bring the kids to see the ever-changing Winter Walk.

A family vacation is meant to be cherished and enjoyed. Get your trip off on the right foot and book with Expedia.ca; you’ll get our Best Price Guarantee on our selection of San Francisco hotels. That means more money in your wallet instead of spent on accommodation. Isn’t that worth another trip to Pier 39?
