"Did not get what we purchased thur Expedia"
We had reserved a marina view balcony king room. When we arrived 21/2 hours early, we pre-checked in and was told that our room will be available in about an hour. We went to their bar/restaurant to have a drink and appetizer. We were ignored sitting at a table for 30 minutes, so we moved to the bar and had to ask for help as we were still invisible. This is my real only complaint to the hotel staff. You need to add more staff or make sure your staff acknowledges customers. Its rude that they don't. Then we finally could officially get our room of which was two doubles and a view of a roof on the side of the the hotel. (Even though, we arrived early, still had no room really reserved for us) When we called and asked the front desk, we were told that instead of our reservation (THUR EXPEDIA) being what we paid extra for was really only a request and the hotel had NO marina views or king beds. We were very upset as we paid extra for what we were suppose to be getting. Mike at the front, did try to make it up to us by giving us some discounts and although we appreciated his help we were very mad that Expedia would not make sure that people are getting what they paid for. I am no longer going to use Expedia for this reason.

We had booked a city view through Expedia but had to change the room when we got there. They knew we had the city view but they gave us a classic room which was less expensive. When I ask the hotel if I could get credit for this, they said yes but called Expedia which I did. Expedia said the hotel wouldn't give us the credit. The manager said we booked through Expedia and they could not help us. It was a blame game between Expedia and the hotel, we had no problem with our rental car we booked through Expedia, we got credit back. I think this poor communication and should be something they should fix. I'm sure this happens all the time guest needing to change rooms.Sure the hotel said they could give us credit for eating in the hotel but we were there to visit San Francisco this wasn't a business trip.

Checkin was great. Staff very accommodating. Room was nice & quiet. Unlike most Marriotts this one had a great tv channel selection. Did room service one night & enjoyed my selection very much. It was a great location to meet all of my tours.

Great location. The room was clean, as were the other facilities in the hotel. Business center is a little small.

"Location, location, location!"
Had a nice stay here. Only drawback is that the room was a bit hot and stuffy. Could only set the AC at 68 and it had no fan.

"Beautiful hotel just off the Bay"
I got there too early to check in, but the hotel staff was super helpful in helping me store my luggage and assisting me with places to get some lunch while I waited for my room to be ready. The wait time was less than an hour! Amy at the reception desk was particularly notable - she was very welcoming.

Le Meridien San Francisco

"Excellent hotel close to attractions"
Staying in the financial district removes you from the crowds of union square and the unpleasantness of fisherman's wharf. Bing close to the ferry building is great for nice food/coffee. The hotel is very comfortable with well appointed rooms, very polite and helpful staff and feels like a quality product throughout.

There are so many things to do in San Francisco, it’s difficult to know where to start.

So why not begin with a place where you can do a lot of things at once? We’re talking about Fisherman’s Wharf. Located on the upper east side of the city, Fisherman’s Wharf hosts a number of attractions, including shopping, dining, restaurants, a carousel, and the Aquarium of the Bay. Where else can your kids learn about the local sea life and enjoy some clam chowder in a sourdough bowl? You can stick with the animal theme and head 10 km across town to the San Francisco Zoo. Polar bears, lemurs, and wolverines, oh my! Your little ones will love the critters, and you’ll love the zoo’s beautiful layout.

Want more family fun in San Francisco? The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, located on the northern end of the city, is full of antique sailing ships and exhibits to explore. Learn how to set square-rigged sails on the Balclutha, or go for a jaunt around the bay on the schooner Alma. After a long day of exploration and excitement in San Francisco, a family hotel is the perfect place to retreat for some R&R. If you’re visiting in the winter, we recommend booking a hotel near Union Square, so you can bring the kids to see the ever-changing Winter Walk.

A family vacation is meant to be cherished and enjoyed. Get your trip off on the right foot and book with; you’ll get our Best Price Guarantee on our selection of San Francisco hotels. That means more money in your wallet instead of spent on accommodation. Isn’t that worth another trip to Pier 39?
