"Near Fisherman's Dwarf"
Very nice hotel near Fisherman's Dwarf and other fun activities on the Bay. We would have stayed longer, but had already obligated to hotel further up the coast (too bad). Because we really enjoyed the area and will definitely be returning. Only complaints were that the air-conditioner was a little strange (set against the desk) and did not work in cooling the room down very well at all. We were not aware that the parking garage was an extra charge either. Hotel staff were so nice and understanding when we accidentally over stayed and did not charge us extra. Staff were extremely accommodating.

"Great location, friendly and helpful staff. "
We stayed for 3 nights - family of 4, kids aged 4 and 8. Was a great place to be based and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is really nice - have stayed in many boring hotels and this isn't one of them.

"Friendly staff!"
I only stayed there for one night. The beds are absolutely comfortable! I just wish they had more parking, and cheaper parking. I had already paid for my stay and on top I paid almost 40 dollars for my car to stay in the hotel's parking overnight. Overall, it's a nice place with very friendly staff members.

"Nice, comfy and affordable"
I've been this hotel so many times but this time not very satisfied. The room they gave us is so small and you can hear all the noise outside because is so near to the check in area.

"Beautiful historic building"
This hotel was beautiful and it was a good location to catch the BART to and from the Airport. The hotel is located in an area where you will see some homeless people but pretty much all of SF is like that so please do not let that deter you from checking out this beautiful building. It is also very close to City Hall/Civic Centre which is a stop for our Hop on/Hop off Tour Bus Company with City Sightseeing Tours which made things very convenient. The "Local Diner" located across the street and a couple of doors down from Sam's Diner was absolutely amazing. The place is not fancy at all but the staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious and fast service. We ate there for the rest of the week!!

"Mannequin & Halo"
We were only here for one day for a concert. It was the first time visiting San Francisco and staying at this Hotel. We enjoyed every second of it. The Jr. Suite is worth every penny and we will be coming back again with our kids.

"Superb location and fantastic hotel"
The hotel is fabulous, very charming with great staff and extremely clean. We were upgraded to a suite, it must have been the best room in the hotel - large bedroom and separate lounge plus two bathrooms on the top floor and overlooking Union Square. We had a fridge and coffee machine along with a desk and plenty of storage space including many drawers and a big walk in wardrobe. Toiletries were provided as were dressing gowns. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We loved the free coffee/cookies/popcorn on supply in the lobby 24/7. On our second day, we were left with a lovely gift of a 'happy anniversary' helium balloon, a card and a bottle of wine - a lovely touch. The only complaint is the hairdryer - the cord was really short and it was therefore a nightmare to use as most of the sockets were at a low level and/or not near a mirror. I used the socket in the bathroom and straddled across the toilet to get a glimpse of the wall mounted/movable mirror but it was very awkward to use (I have long hair that needs blow drying to style). The location is superb, Union Square is a very short walk to the Powell Mason/Hyde cable car turnaround and all of the hop on / hop off bus routes start there in the morning. Its also the main shopping area with Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and many more designer shops nearby. Restaurant and diner's are close - Lori's was particularly good.

"Good central locations "
Great location, close to everything! We had a city view room so was a bit noisier but this didn't bother us and the check in staff asked when we were checking in if we would like a city view and advised us it would be noisy. They also provided ear plugs in the room. Lovely old building with traditional touches. Would definitely recommend.

There are so many things to do in San Francisco, it’s difficult to know where to start.

So why not begin with a place where you can do a lot of things at once? We’re talking about Fisherman’s Wharf. Located on the upper east side of the city, Fisherman’s Wharf hosts a number of attractions, including shopping, dining, restaurants, a carousel, and the Aquarium of the Bay. Where else can your kids learn about the local sea life and enjoy some clam chowder in a sourdough bowl? You can stick with the animal theme and head 10 km across town to the San Francisco Zoo. Polar bears, lemurs, and wolverines, oh my! Your little ones will love the critters, and you’ll love the zoo’s beautiful layout.

Want more family fun in San Francisco? The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, located on the northern end of the city, is full of antique sailing ships and exhibits to explore. Learn how to set square-rigged sails on the Balclutha, or go for a jaunt around the bay on the schooner Alma. After a long day of exploration and excitement in San Francisco, a family hotel is the perfect place to retreat for some R&R. If you’re visiting in the winter, we recommend booking a hotel near Union Square, so you can bring the kids to see the ever-changing Winter Walk.

A family vacation is meant to be cherished and enjoyed. Get your trip off on the right foot and book with Expedia.ca; you’ll get our Best Price Guarantee on our selection of San Francisco hotels. That means more money in your wallet instead of spent on accommodation. Isn’t that worth another trip to Pier 39?
