"Lovely hotel centrally located."
The service was excellent, the staff were very helpful when I asked to check in early and they gave me a lovely suite. It is well located about 10 mins walk tk Union square on hob hill which is a lovely area. I would definitely go back there.

"Previous stays have been better"
I love this hotel and have stayed several times. This time was lacking in flawless service and that sense of being, well, a revered/beloved/important guest of the hotel. Some hotels have that ability to make you feel special and taken care of no matter the size of your room or final tab. It is what you expect when you pay full fare for your reservation ... The spa felt shop-worn, the room service portions seemed skimpy, and staff and other guests contributed to that snooty, not wholly welcoming, passive-aggressive atmosphere so common to the SF Bay Area. Stay for the beautiful grounds and access to the Headlands.

"Room Could Be More Comfortable"
The seating furniture was uncomfortable. The bed was okay, but had a soft mattress. Bathroom had a separate tub and shower. That means a small shower. In order to get cool weather into the room you have to leave window or door open with fan. That can be very uncomfortable for people in law enforcement. Next time, we will look at other options.

"Weddings can be loud!!"
We were booked in a room on the first door next to a wedding reception and employee staging area...although the hotel was very nice the wedding music was loud and the noise from all the employees going in and out was loud and really hard to sleep..hotel should book those rooms for wedding guests so they won't be bothered by the noise
