"Not really sure??"
We were so excited to stay in this hotel since we are in San Francisco at least 2 times a year. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, however it lacked a lot. It was very sterile and there was no life on the main floor at all. I thought before writing this review that I would go online to look at past pictures. They are much different than what we saw. It was almost like they were in the midst of moving out? The main floor had no real comfortable place to invite the people we were there to see into and visit. Lots of chairs, one couch facing a t.v. but other than that nothing inviting. The room was a nice layout however the pictures again show that there were pictures on the wall. While we stayed there was nothing on the walls, very sterile once again and the floor hadn't been swept or vacuumed as there were dried peas and misc all over the floor including under the fridge cabinet. Maybe we just came at a bad time or they are redecorating and we were there when everything had been taken out? I will definitely give the Payne Mansion another shot but next time ask questions before booking this one.

"Hotel is in a great location in union square "
great location and access to BART system to and from airport. Rooms are clean but not having 2 queen beds in a room is a bit disappointing. This is a boutique hotel - bathrooms are dated but clean. Beds are comfortable. Great restaurants all around the hotel. Have stayed 3 times but may try something different next time….

"Good hotel in Downtown"
This is located almost at the Union square which is a great shopping area and the starting point of the cable car in SF. I stayed here for 6 days. Pros : 1) Great location - near downtown 2) Superb staff - very helpful and kind. Thanks to all of them 3) Clean rooms - even though its a old hotel the rooms are well mentioned. 4) Pretty decent breakfast. Cons : 1) The room s are a bit small so if u need more space its tough. 2) Noise in the night from the street behind can be disturbing. Overall its a good hotel with excellent staff !

"Terrific triton hotel"
This hotel was a really hipster super sick rock n roll eclectic in its aesthetic hotel. There was a legit art show on the mezzanine floor celebrating neodadaism as part of the San Francisco art festival. Loved the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Loved our stay here. Will stay again if I'm ever back.

"Nice hotel in good area."
Nice hotel, older building but well kept. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Restaurants close and about 3 blocks from both Chinatown and Union Square. expensive to park your car but there is valet parking. If you are going to stay in town, this is a nice option.

The image of San Francisco’s fog-swept waterfront will stick with you long after you head for home.

Head out into the fog and visit the Ferry Building Marketplace, located along the Embarcadero on the northeastern side of the city. Not only is this the main artery for ferry traffic heading into the city, it’s also home to a wonderful farmers market full of fresh local produce, meats, and much more. You can sit down for a delicious breakfast, or stock up on goods to bring back to your hotel for later consumption. As the fog lifts, go west to the Marina District. Here’s where you’ll find upscale shopping, along with a beautiful waterfront park and a view of San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Any trip to the big city means a visit to Union Square is in order. It’s not just a great place for shopping, though the square is home to many prominent boutiques and department stores. It’s also full of restaurants and cafes, and there’s always something going on, including a Christmas tree and menorah lighting during the winter and art shows in the summer. The magic continues in a San Francisco boutique hotel; when you stay in one, you’ll enjoy custom styling, little touches like unique artwork, and meals cooked from locally grown produce.

No matter what time of year you decide to travel, will get you there with big savings. You’ll get our Best Price Guarantee when you book a hotel in San Francisco, leaving you with more money in your pocket to spend on the important things like another fine meal at Union Square.
