"Small, clean room in a great location"
We were especially pleased that we were able to get into our room before 3 PM as the weather was awful and we needed a place to dry off! The staff was very accommodating.

Hotel Kabuki - a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel

1625 Post St, San Francisco - Map
A very good alternative to busy and chaotic Union Square-area hotels. Easy access to public transit, and close enough to visit certain tourist sites by foot. Japan Centre is a welcomed option for clean and civil dining and shopping interests. My room was on the 6th floor, facing west. Good size and clean, but showing its age. SFO can be loud, even in Japantown. Double-paned windows and sliders plus better internal sound insulation would warrant an additional rating. Overall, a very good experience and would re-book for future visits to SFO.

"Great location for first time travellers to San Fr"
Room was small but clean. Bathrooms are extremely tiny but sufficient. It looks like the room was renovated except it looks like they just painted over the old stuff. The tub is already rusting away again. The bed is terrible. Very wirey and hard. Great location to transportation, food, sight seeing, etc.

"Great location"
This a great renovated hotel very close to Union Square. The staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was great too! The only downside, was that there was no air-conditioning on a very hot night :(

Unlike chain brand hotels, this is a unique hotel in a great location. I could not be happier with the Staff they were very pleasant during our stay, extremely helpful with directions and public transportation questions. After my stay i realized i had left a valuable item in my room, i contacted the hotel staff and the item was returned to me promptly.

"Lovely hotel, bad neighbourhood "
Hotel itself is beautiful and staff are lovely, but being from out of town and not knowing San Fran at all, we discovered some very unnerving streets in the direct vicinity while exploring. Neighbourhood is rough, but just don't walk at night and find out which areas to avoid altogether!

The image of San Francisco’s fog-swept waterfront will stick with you long after you head for home.

Head out into the fog and visit the Ferry Building Marketplace, located along the Embarcadero on the northeastern side of the city. Not only is this the main artery for ferry traffic heading into the city, it’s also home to a wonderful farmers market full of fresh local produce, meats, and much more. You can sit down for a delicious breakfast, or stock up on goods to bring back to your hotel for later consumption. As the fog lifts, go west to the Marina District. Here’s where you’ll find upscale shopping, along with a beautiful waterfront park and a view of San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Any trip to the big city means a visit to Union Square is in order. It’s not just a great place for shopping, though the square is home to many prominent boutiques and department stores. It’s also full of restaurants and cafes, and there’s always something going on, including a Christmas tree and menorah lighting during the winter and art shows in the summer. The magic continues in a San Francisco boutique hotel; when you stay in one, you’ll enjoy custom styling, little touches like unique artwork, and meals cooked from locally grown produce.

No matter what time of year you decide to travel, will get you there with big savings. You’ll get our Best Price Guarantee when you book a hotel in San Francisco, leaving you with more money in your pocket to spend on the important things like another fine meal at Union Square.
