My wife and I spent a long weekend at Cavallo Point for our anniversary. The hotel is set in an idyllic location with great views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge and Angel Island but is well sheltered from the usual wind.
The buildings have been well restored and offer luxurious accommodations that are supported by the sort of polite and attentive staff that are expected with this type of hotel.

When we arrived the room was unusually shaped. Long and narrow. However it turned out to be fine. The overall size was the same as a regular room. The bed was extremely comfortable. Firm mattress which is what my wife and I like. We didn't like the pillows but we find its the same everywhere. Very soft. The room was clean. The restaurant was good. We had dinner once and breakfast twice. All 3 times it was good. We used the valet parking. The staff was good. We never waited long for our vehicle....

Moved here after one night at a 'budget friendly' hotel and so glad I did. Loved the location, room size & comfort, professional yet friendly staff, and the holiday decor. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend. Staying here turned my whole San Fran experience around.

Traveling for business I was extremely impressed with this hotel. The front desk concierge (Hannah) was amazing as were all hotel staff. Courteous and professional for the 4 days I was there. Fantastic stay in a grand hotel. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel was great, very comfortable stay and the staff was very accommodating. The area is tricky and isn’t the hotel’s fault. It’s a direct line to Union Square which is great but if you go two blocks down, you will hit the shady area of Downtown San Francisco. You just have to be mindful of that.

Having only a couple days to find a hotel for my first night in the Bay on a work trip, I had to 'settle' for the Berkeley City Club. Rates were amazingly good compared to the typical chain hotels, and it was close enough to the office. Man, what a find! I was very impressed with the building, the staff, the pool, and the history of the place. I would gladly come back. Great experience.
