Hotel Commonwealth

Hotel Commonwealth

10/10 Excellent
"From the moment our Uber arrived and the doorman grabbed our luggage, we felt old world hospitality and that we were being taken care of. We arrived a bit before check-in and the friendly guy at the front desk checked us in anyway—offering waters and chocolate. The bellman brought our luggage up to the room. When we opened the door, we were happily surprised by the tranquility and size of the room. It was crispy cold, smelled laundry clean and the professionalism in neatness was 5 stars! The bathroom was immaculate as well with a generous pile of towels, hand towels and wash cloths. Most hotels in an older city tend to have mold issues but not this one—the air was clean and clear of allergens. (I’m a canary for mold as I wake up with puffy eyes—at this hotel I had clear eyes and no congestion). The beds were very comfortable and the pillows too—I looked up the tag since I wanted to get these pillows for home. My only suggestion would be dimmers in the bathroom since the lighting is very bright but a small tweak if lighting ever needs replacement. The manager and staff were all very personable and my daughter and I were treated like old friends. Just a special place with good people."

"Rooms are nicely designed and spacious. We had SEVERAL lights in our room that DID NOT WORK. The lights around the main mirror in entry (we were getting ready for a wedding so it would really been nice to have that light as that area of the room was entirely dark and we could not see our attire when we aere getting ready) - light inside the coffee machine cupboard was not working- light in bathroom by make-up mirror not working."

"Breakfast was a joke…but coffee and tea okay. Otherwise, prepackaged junky muffins and sweet roll. Room pretty good. Common area shabby but sigs saying they are renovating. Great location!"

"This hotel is in a great location to walk to the Quincy Market area. It is not far from the cruise port or the airport if you use Uber. It is a very clean hotel with an exceptional and helpful staff. Although it has a restaurant and cafe , we didn’t eat there due to our departure time, but it is convenient to have one close."

Club Quarters Hotel Faneuil Hall, Boston

Club Quarters Hotel Faneuil Hall, Boston

8/10 Good
"Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! The staff were super helpful and friendly. One thing I really liked was the guest closet. It had little extras like shower caps, mini sewing kits, razors, and shaving cream, which I thought was a nice touch. They also had a water bottle filling station where you could grab an empty bottle and fill it with filtered water. I’ve honestly never seen that at a hotel before, and I used it my entire stay! The only downside for me was the bathroom. I had a stand-up shower, and the bathroom was pretty small and tight. It wasn’t a big enough issue for me to change rooms, though. If you’re a light sleeper, just be aware that you may hear toilets flushing from the floor above. I stayed on the 7th floor, and I could hear it occasionally. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely stay here again!"
