When is the best time to go to Puhi?

The best time to go to Puhi is during the shoulder seasons of April to June and September to November, when the weather is pleasant and visitor numbers are lower. During these periods, you'll experience warm temperatures, typically ranging from 24°C to 29°C, with less humidity than the peak summer months. This makes it ideal for exploring the island's natural beauty, such as the nearby Wailua River or the beaches along the coast, without the intense heat or larger crowds. For couples seeking a relaxing getaway, these months offer a more tranquil experience. You can enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or kayaking with more space and a calmer atmosphere, making it easier to find quiet spots for a picnic or a romantic sunset view. Families also find these times advantageous, as the slightly cooler temperatures are more comfortable for children participating in outdoor adventures.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel’s cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use our "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right Puhi hotel for you.

Top Puhi Hotel Reviews

Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay, HI

8/10 Good

"The place is in good location, beach is just behind it, restaurants in the hotel, no free breakfast. It’s a little bit expensive but reasonable for Kauai standard. Will stay at this hotel again if we go back to Kauai."

Ko'a Kea Resort on Po'ipu Beach

10/10 Excellent

"If you are planning a stay at Poipu, stay at Ko’a Kea. It is a small boutique property but experienced enough to provide great service, grounds and food. The property was well maintained and clean. It is right at the oceanfront and our room faced it, just steps away. Everything we ate and drank from the bar menu and Red Salt was superb. There are a some things that could be improved that are not Hurricane Lowell related. The bathroom and shower could use updated tile and trim and a double sink. Also, although we did not notice a smell, the rooms are carpeted. Hardwood flooring or similar just feels cleaner. The rooms were tastefully decorated and bed comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return!"

Waimea Plantation Cottages, a Coast Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Our 2nd time here! Love the quietness that this area of the island provides. Hotel has some food options but you mainly have to travel a short way for more restaurants and shopping. Immediate access to Wailua Canyon, which makes it really convenient. Great property for family and events…we were a couple though and always enjoy our time and the old school plantation vibes."

Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection

10/10 Excellent

"Wonderful location, can walk to restaurants and shops in less than 10 minutes. Beautiful spot to catch the sunset on the water across the street. Poipu lots of beaches you can walk or drive to near by. Rooms were very clean! Fabulous pools, and a nice adults only pool that felt very secluded. Great value!"

The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue

8/10 Good

"Room was clean and adequate. 1 sink. Bed comfortable. LBT flooring. Food was very good. Pool very nice. Beach access and view great. Ocean view room clear to ocean although the view of roof top below was dirty and could use some TLC. Generally nice stay for 3 days near the airport. Would do it again."
