The "free" breakfast feels to me more like a check mark feature for the search filters rather than a real enjoyable breakfast so I skipped it almost every day. The whole place is built on sand so be aware you have to be comfortable with sand everywhere, but if that's your jam it's quite unique "

"A few things about this place. The food was bland and they need to have something different than hot dogs and hamburgers. It is in Mexico so tacos and taquitos or even quesadillas. The buffet was just ok. The restaurants offer foods that you can pay for too but they were not tasty either. The staff was amazing tho and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I wished I would have known about the bar at the top of the hotel before we left it was nice. get there early so you can get a cabana. Have to say that Adult only was pretty nice too."

"Property is definitely older, rooms need an upgrade. The floor we stayed on had a strong sulphur smell. The good news is they are undergoing a complete renovation this year. "If you do not book through Riu, you have to get your own shuttle. you can do this through Expedia, but after you book it you will want to call the shuttle company and get very clear meet up instructions. the airport is full of people who tell you they are with your shuttle just to try to sell you something."
