Ontario Place Tours and Activities

This multipurpose entertainment and recreation park with marina and beaches spans three offshore Lake Ontario islands.

See a concert at famous Echo Beach, take photos of the Toronto skyline or dock your yacht in the marina at Ontario Place, Toronto’s entertainment hub on Lake Ontario.

Ontario Place opened in 1971 with entertainment facilities spread across three man-made, landscaped islands. In 2012, the government released details of a revitalization plan and closed the Ontario Place grounds, including the Cinesphere, water park, rides, attractions and restaurants. The new attractions launch in 2017 during Canada’s 150th-anniversary festivities. The marina, Echo Beach, amphitheatre, a private events pavilion and paid parking lots remain open.Join up to 5,000 concert goers at Echo Beach, one of the city’s most popular outdoor live music venues. Notable international acts have performed here, including Ed Sheeran and Marina and the Diamonds. Have your camera ready to take photos of the Toronto cityscape in the background, the perfect backdrop for a music concert.

The 16,000-seat amphitheatre also hosts big bands and singers, such as Bryan Adams, Dave Matthews Band and Il Volo.

Sailing enthusiasts will enjoy strolling around the marina from May to mid-October when 240 yachts and boats dock here. If you own a boat, or charter one, rent a slip for an overnight or short-term stay.

Check out the Cinesphere, a famous golf ball-shaped landmark on Toronto’s waterfront. Nearby you’ll find a banquet hall with panoramic views of downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario, making it a popular location for weddings and conferences.

The complex is off the north shore of Lake Ontario and to the west of Toronto’s city centre, a 10-minute drive from downtown. Parking is limited, so public transportation is an easier option. Trains and light rail services stop at Exhibition Place. From there it's a 10-minute walk to Ontario Place. Alternatively, go to the harbour and follow the Waterfront Trail. Allow one hour for this route.

The Ontario Place marina is open from May to mid-October. Check the official Echo Beach website for concert times and dates. For events at the amphitheatre, check the Live Nation website.
