Great location. Felt safe but so loud that I couldn’t sleep.

The Chelsea Inn the staff was welcoming. It is not a hotel that ushers you with information about the neighborhood. The room is small but clean and quiet. The bed to sleep on- superb. The internet sometimes spotty. Four flights of stairs at a steep angle was intense but fine. The location is excellent
Third week staying here this Spring with no air conditioning. The staff is incredibly friendly, but they are unable to do anything to help beside a large fan.
Rooms were super clean. In person front desk people were super friendly. AC was incredible. It felt very safe. Rooms are small (but we knew that from the pictures) but comfortable and layout makes sense!
very quiet (except Saturday as next door bar terrace was beneath our window) clean affordable decent nights sleep. perfect if your visiting your student at NYU
Very clean and quiet. Nice area and friendly staff. Loved the location. Only reason it is not a full 5 stars is because the mattress was so worn that you slid to the middle and with 2 people you felt like you were sleeping on a wedge all night. Our daughter lives near here so we’d love to return often and recommend but the mattress may deter us.
It is NYC after all. Street noises etc sometimes intruded and of course the sidewalks could be dirty but that’s not their fault. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was tight but functional. Entry and exit was easy and I really liked not carrying a card key.
This was a very convenient place to stay. It’s a little funky, but I would stay there again. I did have some issue with internet connection is my only comment
Very centrally located in lower Manhattan. Close to lots and so much more within a 25 min train ride. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, fridge and microwave was a good thing.
The unstaffed check-in is problematic. Access Cides can go to your spam box (I discovered too late) and tphones can run out of power leaving on the street (as was the case with single female traveler I ran into waiting outside late at night) Phones not always answered in a timely manner. Stairway is really dirty. No elevator. My room was on the 5th floor! Bad water Pressure. There is a coffee machine in room but with a cord not long enough to reach power receptacle. Room itself is adequate and price, although high, better than most options.
clean, easy check-in and out and great location. no complaints.

We understood that there was no elevator but we didnt realize the impact of that after 20,000 steps of exploring, daily.
Check in was easy.
The room was exactly what they said it would be.
The Chelsea Inn provided a safe and clean environment to sleep and then explore Manhattan. The bathroom and overall Studio was spotless...nice! The room was quite small but adequate. There was rarely a person at the desk when I walked by on three or four occasions. But they did provide a kind of self-check-in process that worked well. There are no elevators so be ready to climb a few flights of stairs! The biggest concern I experienced: the A/C did not work even though it was running at the coldest level possible. To offset the uncomfortably warm temp at night, I turned on the ceiling fan to provide better air circulation but with each rotation of the fan blade one heard a grinding wobbly sound all evening. I had to start my trip back to Boston quite exhausted. If you stay here, which otherwise would have been a great place, make sure the A/C and fan works before unpacking.
2nd time staying here and will stay again. Saying that, keep in mind that if you have a room thats not on the main floor, you need to manage some narrow, steep stairs - especially if you are on the 5th floor as i was last visit.
Still, very clean and had everything i needed.
Our code didn't work to check in, and never stayed. My sister had a room that she was able to get into, but there were no windows and the mattress was all caved in in the middle. We opted to stay at another place.
Shoe box size room. Paper thin walls and plenty of noise to keep you up at night. Mattress from the 20th century. Poor Wifi. Hotel communication as if we're still in peak pandemic times. And the list goes on.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your stay.
We were left unattended outside for more than 25 minutes during check in time. There was no body to open the door. Also definitely not accessible as no lifts are available so we had to carry the luggage by ourself.
The rooms are so tiny and unhygienic
Nice, clean, and simple stay! I will be returning in the future.

This property was good for what it was but still very expensive. The room is tiny and you can hear the street noise all night even on the 5th floor. Also there is NO elevator and we had to lug our suitcase up 5 flights of stairs.
