Lucan Vacation Packages

Our first impressions of the hotel were excellent. It is part of an old factory, all of which has been renovated and turned into part hotel, part shopping and part community center. The entire hotel is immaculate. It's brand-new and it shows. A lot of retro decor, drawn from the era of vinyl records. Glitz everywhere, but not tacky. At check-in, a lady who works in one of the hotel's shops approached us and asked if we'd like a record player and vinyl records to play on it. Apparently they loan these to all of the hotel's guests. She said they have records that span the entire range of music. We didn't have time to take her up on her offer, but it was a nice and tempting touch. The staff are cheerful and most helpful. We didn't need much during our stay, but there were no issues with anything we asked for. The rooms are clean and, from the pictures I saw, every one has unique decor, all based on the vinyl record theme. Only one negative (and this is personal): The entire hotel, lobby, hallways and rooms are filled with a strong scent. Both of us are sensitive to scents, so that was a problem. The scent was exceptionally strong at the front desk. It was difficult to sleep, I kept waking up during the night. It took us a couple of days to feel reasonably normal after we left. We asked about the scent at the front desk and were told that this is hotel policy. They disperse the scent into the ventilation system. Be forewarned if this is an issue for you.

The only reason it’s not five stars is that we were promised a discounted parking rate. When we checked in, they said they couldn’t provide us with passes. Other than that, everything was good.
