"Good location and easy on/off the 8 freeway, great staff and restaurants, but being an older property could only rate this at 4 stars since the pipes were very noisy and disturbed our sleep…we also needed a portable heater brought to us during a cold evening when no heat was available using the in-room system."

"It is a unique property, feels more like a well maintained older apartment complex, but the low price and good reviews led us to try it for 3 nights. We we're not disappointed. The good reviews were justified. I like the location which allows immediate access to the 805 freeway and downtown within a few minutes (depending on rush hour). Secure gates from the parking lots keep the homeless out, but the video monitored parking.lots, like any, may see some rare incidents, as we overheard in the lobby. The well maintained garden atmosphere in the courtyard interior is attractive, and the lobby breakfast area serves no food but has all day filtered water, coffee, tea, and a microwave. Another plus is a rare daily newspaper, which was nice to see in a day when they're getting thinner or nonexistent. The full color political cartoons were nice on Halloween day, one depicting a homeowner apologizing for not being able to afford candy, and the Frankenstein costumed child saying he couldn't afford eggs!"

"The hotel has beautiful grounds and our room did not disappoint. Everything is luxurious. We had the junior suite king bed, bay view. We had a patio that opened up on the grass with a beautiful view of the bay. Plus we could see the Marina to the right. Our room was amazing. We used room service for 2 days of meals and on our last night we went to the Firefly Eatery and Bar. We sat outside for my husband’s 75th birthday. We had a fire pit at our table. Which made it more intimate. The view from the eatery outside was beautiful. They had lights that wrapped around the dining area and the trees were lit up too. You could see the bay as well. Dinner was scrumptious. I had the steak, my husband had the Sonoran chicken. So delicious . The chocolate lava cake and ice cream was to die for. The walks along the bay were lovely, as was walking along the marina and the hote grounds which are beautifully landscaped. The bed in our room was so comfortable we both slept well. It was very quiet there and we enjoyed seeing the boats going in and out of the marina. There are bicycles to rent and see dos and kayaks as well. Sea World is 5 minutes away as is the boardwalk. Everything you'd need is very close. The staff is helpful and friendly. We even made a few purchases at the gift shop. We went to the beach and boardwalk and everything is so close but when at the Dana you feel like you are in your own world. We cannot wait to plan our next trip there. We give it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
