"Nicely appointed with all the items we needed for our stay. Enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the evening, listening to the various critters in the foliage nearby. The only thing I missed is the same thing I miss at every rental unit I have stayed at - a way to sharpen the cooking knives! "

"Clean and the amenities are well covered and thought out. What you might not have thought of they probably have. Masks for snorkeling, beach chairs and foam noodles. I didn’t recall that there is not a stove but there was a nice bbq that we cooked the Korean shortribs we bought at KTA. We bought things we shouldn’t have but because we forgot there was no way kitchen in the unit but we had lots of fun sitting on the porch eating papayas and having friendly geckos all around. Beautiful gardens. And close to many things. "

"The guest house had everything we needed, even Yoga mats! We enjoyed the pool. The kitties, chickens pigs and frogs made the stay more authentic. We had fun walking through the jungle/gardens. "Great place and space for our first visit to Hawaii. We really enjoyed the view of the ocean which could be seen from almost every room in the house. The upper bedroom balcony was great for spotting the whales off in the distance. Also enjoyed sipping my coffee out on the patio in the mornings as the sun came up. The little trail out to the rocks was a favorite spot for my husband to just take in the ocean views. The host literally thought of everything we would need for our stay. Appreciate having all the comforts of home during our stay. Although it may have been a little longer drive into town to the nearest Walmart, it was worth it to be right on the ocean in a private tropical like setting away from the “city” hustle and bussle. Only thing that might have made our stay even better would have been air conditioning. But then we wouldn’t have the sounds of the ocean to listen to with the windows closed. Thank you for making our 35th Anniversary trip to Hawaii an enjoyable experience. We’d highly recommend staying at Kai Hona Hal!"

"Montana was a great host. Everything at the house was as described. The location was optimal for our trip as we were sitting time between town and volcano. About 30 to the airport and 8 minutes from Foodland. The house was comfortable and parking was easy. Everything you could need in a stay. "
