"We stayed in the Garden room and found it to be a little peace of paradise all on its own. The host was absolutely fabulous, he would come over in the morning and get the coffee going, gave us an itinerary of events going on for each day of the week. On Monday he hosted a bonfire bbq, with drinks, food, and entertainment. We felt very welcome here. One of the highlights beyond the awesome hot tub in the jungle was the outdoor shower, now I want one at my house. This will definitely be our Hawaii home for every trip to the big island. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better time staying there. Absolutely the best resort I’ve been to."

Rainforest Volcano Retreat – As Seen on TV! Near Volcanoes Nat’l Park

10/10 Excellent
"The Volcano Home was a wonderful home base for our vacation. The most outstanding aspect was the welcoming hosts. We felt like honored guests in their home. They made sure we felt welcomed and took the time to send us a text when the volcano was erupting. Because of that, we were able to beat the crowds to the park. The house itself is amazing. It's an illustration of living green without giving up any creature comforts. We found ourselves looking forward to returning "home" after each day of sightseeing and lingering in the mornings to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The location is perfect for anyone that wants to be immersed in the environment to enjoy solitude or reconnect with family. It's thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need, and the checkout requests are extremely minimal. If you're thinking of staying at this home, I highly encourage you to book it."

Ocean Views • Whale Watching • Sea Turtles • Sunrise Lanai • King Bed

8/10 Good
"The house was overall good. Very clean. It was just the wife and me, so very accommodating for us; however, the living room only has a couch and one chair (seating for 4) . . . otherwise, bar stools and kitchen chairs would be needed for additional guest. The porch (lanai) area was excellent. Three ceiling fans in the living room and kitchen area but only two worked. The doorknob lock on the guess bathroom door needs fixing. If you use the guess bathroom and lock the door, the door is very difficult to unlock. It happened to me once, but after a few minutes, I was able to unlock it. The wife got locked in the bathroom and could not get it unlocked. I tried unlocking it from the outside and that didn't work. Finally, I slid a butter knife under the door, and she used it to pry back the latching mechanism and was finally able to open the door. Air conditioning only in the master bedroom makes it very comfortable at night to sleep. Beware that the ac unit's power comes from the circuit breaker that powers the bedroom. The wife used a hair dryer when the ac was on, and the circuit breaker tripped. The rest of the house can get very stuffy if there is no breeze coming off the ocean during July. The owner is very, very nice, pleasant, and communicates very well either by messaging or phone. All of the appliances work as best as we can remember. The laundry room is outside the master bed behind the garage."
