We watched dolphins and turtles playing in the magnificent waves. The host, Jennifer, is so attentive and gives you an abundance of information before your arrival. "Lovely spot to enjoy Volcano National Park. The small town is quite limited, so maybe not ideal for a long stay. The Bamboo Guest house was well suited for our family of four. Our two children slept on the “floor futons” and were very comfortable. The house is not air conditioned, which means the windows must be open when it is warm out, allowing some bugs and moisture in. But, the rain forest vibes are pretty nice. Really enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub. WiFi is very spotty. Host was lovely and the breakfast fruit and breads were nice additions."

"Nice owners, pristine accommodations, very safe rural neighborhood, beautiful landscaping. We only stayed one night on our way to see friends, also visiting the big island. So we didn’t explore the area much. But it’s not far from the volcano and even closer to the hot springs and petrified forest."
