Dream House

This house was perfect for our family vacation on the Big Island. The views were breath taking. We saw so many turtles, dolphins and all the sea life! The house was as beautiful as the listing. The area is quiet and not busy which we loved. Will definitely return on next trip out.

Perfect Family Oceanfront Home

Wonderful two weeks at Hale Ohana with our children and grandchildren. Beautiful views, wildlife and access to beaches. Mary at 2 Papayas was very helpful throughout. Would love to come back.

Paradise

Beautiful home in a quaint town. The sounds and smell of the ocean breaking on the reef the fragrance of the flowers allows for a complete sensual experience. Look forward to my next visit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The accommodation met our expectations but the feeling emanating from the home and property exceeded our hopes. Clean 100%. As pictured 150%. The protected tide pools and marine life doubled as morning, afternoon, and night entertainment – turtles, baby sharks, eels, fish, dolphins, and whales. The only amenity we wished for were paddleboards so we could get closer to the outer reef, but the beach chairs and snorkel equipment was used regularly and in great shape. The location is amazing – a quiet, isolated neighborhood, but quick access to shopping, beaches, and all the Big Island tours and day trips. The dipping pool was being the perfect place to float or play with the family. The property managers were attentive without being intrusive and answered our questions before and during our vacation. We loved every minute of our stay.

Hale Ohana exceeded our expectations for a Christmas Holiday

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a family of 6, 5 adults one teenager. The layout of the house provided space and privacy. All furnishings very comfortable, decor inviting. The kitchen well equipped. The setting SPECTACULAR. The ocean at our doorstep. The marine life in tidal pools astounding, sea turtles, eels, fish too numerous to list. And in the horizon dolphins and whales seen almost every day. Several in our party scuba dived with the Blue Wilderness Dive Shop, which is close by.. Leave taking brought tears to our eyes, a memorial experience .

perfect two weeks

We just loved the property it lived up to all the pictures.. Mary and her team were so easy to work with. The sunsets we amazing. There were two great beaches with in ten minutes and you could walk out to see the turtles thru the beach access next door. Great having your own pool to walk into when ever you needed it. Working on plans to return again next year.

Fabulous set up!

Perfect quiet spot with everything nature offers right in your back yard! Sea turtles, blow fish and sting rays!! House has plenty our outdoor living space and you don’t want to leave. Beach down the street is perfect for swimming and the whole area is teeming with fantastic snorkeling. House has comfortable beds and plenty of privacy in each space along with plenty of bathrooms. I highly recommend you book this!

Great vacation

Wonderful vacation hosted by Mary and 2Papayas! Location was great- we enjoyed snorkeling right outside the house, watching turtles and whales every day. Lovely Puako Beach Drive, with the ocean in your backyard!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very happy with the location, Puako is a great neighborhood, we love it! Waking up to the ocean every day was amazing! Mary (and her team) were always very helpful when we needed them. We stayed for 5 weeks, so there were a number of things that we found were not ideal for us, for such a long stay: small living area, only 1 TV in the entire house, washing machine that did not clean anything, uncomfortable furniture and no real indoor dining space. The listing claimed 1 room had an en-suite bath, but you had to exit the bedroom to access the bath. Next time we would choose a different home in Puako to meet our needs but I would still recommend this home for others on shorter stays. We would definitely rent with 2Papayas again! They were great!

The Most Amazing House Ever!

This house and location were perfect! To wake up every morning with the ocean view, and being right on the water...there are no words. We loved having dinner on the lanai and watch the sunsets. Hapuna beach was just down the street. Close to Mauna Lani, Waikoloa and Kona. We will definitely stay there again!!

Great house and location!

We spent Christmas here. The house is perfect. Well stocked and comfortable. We loved the location. We had good walks from the house, short drive to the best beaches on the Big Island. Plus, you are right on the ocean. We saw lots of turtles, whales and snorkeled in front of the house.

Wonderful house to explore the Big Island

We had a wonderful stay and the house was terrific. Great location, clean and well stocked. We had the good fortune of seeing sea turtles from the back yard, enjoyed amazing sunsets and the kids loved playing the pool. We would love to come back again!

10 Days in Paradise!

We rented Hale Ohana for a family vacation with our two adult kids and their spouses and this home was a perfect fit! Not only is it beautiful, inside and out, the layout of the home was thoughtfully planned and gave everyone plenty of room, great views and privacy. Loved the large kitchen area and the huge lanai; this was perfect as each couple took turns cooking dinner for the group and we could visit, make drinks and enjoy the show. Lots of time in the water, snorkeled every day and some of the nights too! The dipping pool is bigger than it looks in the photos and offered a welcome cool down to the 90-degree days! Lovely grounds, home felt very private. Stargazing here was almost as good as at the observatory, and you could do it laying down in a hammock! The master bed was soooo comfy, I’ve been kicking myself since we left that I didn’t look at the mattress label. Really appreciated the use of boogie boards, cooler etc at the house keeping our island purchases of these leave-behind items down. Appreciated the walk through with Marley upon our arrival. She gave us a thorough tour and updated me when there was a slight change in pool/grounds or housekeeping service. 2 Papayas did a super job representing this beautiful home and making us feel welcome. The perfect home away from home for a family gathering or a group of several couples.
