Very old, poorly maintained walls, carpet, furniture and fixtures. A lot of metal fixtures were rusty. Barely functioning coffee machine, and an ancient bathroom. No free breakfast, but the restaurant onsite is ok. No vending machine, but they give free water bottles."

"Overall, we had a good stay at the Viceroy Washington, D.C., but I’m still not really sure what amenities we were paying for. The room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet, which we appreciated. The location was also convenient and made it easy to get around D.C. Every staff member we interacted with was polite, friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very responsive anytime we had an issue or needed something. That said, the room itself was rather dark and could definitely use more outlets. We had four people staying in the room, yet every day housekeeping only left three towels, which was frustrating. I also wish there were more options for grabbing a quick snack or drink, and the coffee shop hours felt pretty limited. Overall, a comfortable and clean stay with excellent staff, but for the price, I expected a little more in terms of amenities and convenience."
