"This resort is amazing and the people that work there are what makes the resort spectacular. From the time we arrived to check-in, Nayeli at reception was so welcoming and personable that she made us feel like we were right where we belonged for our vacation. After drinking the champagne we were given at reception, we then met with concierge to select our dining & excursions. Paola was great at searching for all the available specialty restaurants to reserve our spots for the days we were there. This was great to do ahead of time because it allowed us to plan our activities. We booked our excursion at Xplor at the hotel & it was the best decision. The price, ease, and hospitality of the gentleman there was unmatched. Upon finishing up with concierge, the bell-hops took us via shuttle to our rooms. The food was yummy at the buffet style snack area, for breakfast, and everywhere else we ate. The staff were very accommodating & there was no shortage of staff. The "Luxury" in the resort's name I think is meant for the way the staff treats the guests & waits on them because it's unmatched. Specialty restaurant Ku'uk was my favorite of the ones we tried. The decor is outstanding, the service was excellent, and the food was great. Breakfast at Katok was my favorite spot, the healthy options, mimosas, and yummy food. The decor in this restaurant & views are unbelievable. Right by the adults only infinity pool, across from the beach - just wow. Excellent resort!!! "

"Great value for your dollar! Expedia VIP granted us an upgraded bracelet to allow us into the neighbouring resort. Highly recommended this as the food at Coba is mediocre, the Akumal resort however had amazing food. On par with premium Vegas buffets. VIP premium also got us a free bottle of Tequila to take home. The entertainment was excellent. We saw the Blackbird show and were very impressed. AC at Coba doesn't go bellow 20•C which can be rough. Overall would highly recommend with the caveat that you get the upgraded bracelet. "

"This resort was amazing! Loved that there were so many pools and kid friendly. Also having beach access without having to leave was another bonus. The food was good but our favorite was the Mexican restaurant that is included in the all inclusive. There was a great variety of alcohol and the flavor did not disappoint. Thank you to all the staff we will definitely be back. Lastly don’t forget to tip the lovely staff! "

"This place is great if you are wanting to relax and unplug from the world in a calming atmosphere. The staff is very accommodating to all needs and the food/drinks are amazing! Samuel was a delightful concierge and made sure we were well taken care of and that all was arranged for our airport transfer. Do take note this place is a good ways from downtown. To visit the hotel district/main beach road of Tulum would require a taxi when leaving the park which can be rather expensive. They do have free bike rentals to use to visit the surrounding Cenotes however the road is very rocky and it is better to walk it. Only AC at night in the villas. We enjoyed our stay "
