I loved my stay here. It was more comfortable than I expected! I was travelling solo because I wanted some alone time, but it was nice staying here because I could choose when I wanted to keep to myself or if I wanted to connect with other people! Everywhere was clean and everyone was so kind. The location is absolutely unbeatable too. I could walk to all the places I wanted to visit!!

Very clean, very well organized. Multiple “security checkpoints” where you had to have a scan card to get into the building, to the elevator, to your specific floor and your room. Plus each bed has curtains so you do have privacy even when in a 10 bed dorm

My second time staying at HI Chicago and both times were great! The hostel is very clean, feels very safe, the activities/amenities are great and the location is perfect! I would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay again!

My cubby was lockable and conveniently close to my bunk. For accomodating so many people cleanliness managed around the same I would have expected from a nice hotel. Nice laundry units and decent sized community kitchen. This was a fantastic experience. The staff were super helpful and the tour guide was a lovely old man who was very kind and knowledgeable of the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Me and my buddy got an 8 bedded room but it was nice! We were on the opposite side of the subway so it was a good nights of sleep! You’ll def see homeless on the side of the building but they never were too much of a worry, if you don’t bother them they won’t bother you. They also had a pool table there which was nice to meet new travelers. Everything is also so central that walking a little bit gets you close to the red line to travel even further up Chicago if you’d like to take the sub! Would stay again :)
