We were staying in the hotel to be near relatives after a death in the family. The hotel employees all offered condolences, they sent up a nice fruit basket with a lovely card. Additionally, the room was attractive and comfortable, the bar and lounge were also inviting. And, the cost was very reasonable.

"OK hotel, close to The Capitol and Union Station. "
This hotel is not 4 star according to me, some updates of rooms are needed. Furniture is good, bed is too soft for me, gave me a backache first night. However they have good pillow menu, I chose the firmest one the next day and sleep experience improved.
The rooftop pool is small and the water is not transparent, plus it is very popular for private parties because of which we couldn't use it for couple of days.
The restaurant downstairs is good, we had a la carte breakfast and it was REALLY good, a little pricey.
The best asset of this hotel is staff - GREAT service, friendly, on time, competent.
Very cool boutique hotel in a residential area in Capitol Hill. Room was large but the bathroom was small and a little dark. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We accidentally left a laptop in the car and the valet put it in the trunk for us without us asking. We will definitely stay again.
"Nice hotel, but restaurants nearby close too early"
The adjustable bed didn't work, so the bed was hard. Except for the very expensive, fancy hotel restaurant, most closed very early, especially on the weekend. The only eateries open were McDonald's & Wendy's.

Good place to stay for a short sight seeing break in DC. The location is easy to find , we parked up and went sight seeing straight away. We were able to walk to the central sites, and caught the Metro back from further away. Perhaps not the best location for eating out , but the restaurant was great anyway.
My son and I had come to DC for my daughter's wedding. Everything about the trip had not gone right until we got to this hotel (we switched out from another hotel). We arrived a couple hours before check-in time; however the front desk staff graciously accommodated our early check-in request. Our room was perfect in every way...clean, comfortable, very nice! It was close to Nationals Stadium and most of the DC sites. I would stay there again without hesitation.
We were only here for a short stay. The hotel was lovely and the staff was wonderful. Our only issue was location, there was not a lot within walking distance to the hotel. So an evening meal was either at the Hotel Bistro (which was delicious) or fast food down the block. This was not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind.
You are steps away from the Metro station, so if you want to hop on and head to Union Station it is one stop over.
Lawmakers handle the nation’s business at the US Capitol, where Freedom peers across the land atop her perch on the rotunda. Many members of Congress live in the brick row houses near the Capitol complex. Across the street, the Supreme Court—the third branch of government—interprets the law. Nearby, the restored Union Station is a transit terminal and dining hotspot.
