"Clean room ! Fantastic location. Office Staff was super friendly . I felt safe. Very Basic room - no frills but very adequate. "

"Our stay here for 5 nights was absolutely great. When we entered our room, we quickly learned that the AC unit wasn’t working properly. We alerted the front desk, and while we were out for a couple of hours, we returned to our room and found that the entire unit has been replaced with a new one — both the panel and the vents!! Phenomenal and quick solution. A couple of days later, we asked about room service and they said we just needed to give them a day’s notice. Totally understand that nowadays, so we just asked for a couple of fresh towels. They said they’d drop them by the room for us. When we returned, we had the towels — and the entire room had been cleaned and serviced. A total surprise and GREAT customer service. We didn’t run into a single unfriendly staff member the entire stay — from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff. The rates were great for being a block or so from the Pacific Ocean and overall it was a great, great experience. Kudos to all of this hotel. "

"The property is located just a few minutes from Carlsbad Village. The beach is in walking distance. The hotel offers bicycles, beach chairs and towel. They also have a shuttle that can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. We enjoyed the spa where we had a couples massage. All the employees from the front desk to the wait staff and room attendants were so nice. We had a balcony with a view of the pool and the ocean. It was so peaceful and relaxing! "

"Mark has been lively. Needed to borrow an ironing board and iron and hr helped explain the 200 channel cable system which I couldn't find at first. Quiet night yet place was full. Amazing. "

"The Grotto was such a delightful place to stay! It was very quiet and we woke up each day to the sound of birds chirping. Jason was a fantastic host -- he was very responsive and gave clear, concise instructions. The property was easy to find and well-located. I started most days with a run along the path 2 blocks away and finished with a dip in the pool. The Grotto was also the perfect place to vacation with our dog!"
