Tofino Resort & Marina

Tofino Resort & Marina

8/10 Good
"Beautiful location and nice staff. However, after staying at several other places during our holiday (and none of them as expensive), this “resort” had very little to offer as extras. We even had to ask for a toaster, which apparently ended up being a “staff error” because there wasn’t already one in our room. We were extremely disappointed to discover that there was literally nowhere for us to eat on-site. All times were already reserved for breakfast and dinner. Having a recommendation to reserve the restaurant when we booked weeks in advance would have been good. There were no restaurants available for dinners or breakfasts the days we were in Tofino. That is something we have never experienced before. We did find an amazing sandwich place for lunch one day, though. As we sat on our “patio” that was shared with anyone walking by, we drooled at the thought of buying from the fresh seafood shack that we could see from our chairs, knowing we had no way to cook any of it. Offering some sort of mini bbq, cooktop or even a microwave would be nice. Knowing the “resort” offered free laundry facilities, we had carefully planned our trip’s locations to take advantage of this. Bad idea. For the entire “resort” AND anyone docked at the marina, there is ONE washer and ONE dryer. I returned 10 minutes early to move my clothes over to the dryer, only to catch someone removing them from the washer to put in their own clothes. I had to stay in the room (no chairs) to guard the dryer."
