I enjoyed my stay here. It’s a nice hotel that is in walking distance of the beach. It’s perfect place to stay for a beach getaway. I thought the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. I felt very safe here too. If I come back to Long Beach, I’d definitely stay here.

I liked that the Long Beach Hotel was in town so it was convenient to other restaurants and bars. Our room was big with two King beds, not what we anticipated, had been recently renovated, but the stairway and antiquated elevator definitely showed need of upgrading. Up above our room someone was moving furniture or something all night long. So we didn’t get much sleep.

The room was clean with newer flooring, which was the biggest plus. The AC was erratic. The wifi did not work the entire week, the staff confirmed it was a problem but was unable to assist. The lobby entrance smelled like smoke. The property was over-priced and clearly taking advantage of summer rates and location in Long Beach.

I love Long Beach! I typically come from the city for the day but on special occasions we spend the night. I have stayed at Long Beach Hotel at least three times over the years. The location is fantastic and yes the rooms are rundown but I have never seen bugs etc in the room. My husband and I checked in for a romantic weekend without our child. Upon check in I noticed the vibe was different. There was a security guard in the lobby. There were also people outside the hotel in the lobby and walking around the hallways that did not look like guests staying for a beach weekend. I later learned that this hotel houses low income people in need short term housing. I support this policy and feel like sometimes people need help and i am grateful these services exist. My issue is disclosure. I feel like the hotel should have disclosed to me that I would be spending $350 a night to stay in a quasi homeless shelter. I could have decided if this was something i was comfortable with given the price point and occasion. Needless to say I was disappointed with my experience and I will not be back.

A Warm, Welcoming Stay Near the Beach This was my second stay at the Long Beach Hotel, and once again, what stood out most was how accommodating and welcoming the staff is. The customer service and the charisma of the staff are honestly what keeps bringing me back. Everyone is friendly, and you’re always greeted when they see you, which gives the hotel such a warm, personal feel. The rooms are comfortable and surprisingly spacious, especially considering the affordable price point. While the hotel doesn’t have many onsite amenities beyond coffee and bagels, that honestly isn’t a dealbreaker for me. Being just a block from the beach makes up for it! I brought my teenage boys with me this time, and they especially enjoyed chatting with the security staff each day. The security team took the time to get to know them, and my boys will definitely miss those conversations. That kind of genuine interaction really made our stay feel more personal. The biggest downside for me was the smell of weed in the hallway during our stay, which was unpleasant. However, my room always smelled nice.I also wish the hotel had a gym onsite. Overall, I’d give the Long Beach Hotel 4 out of 5 stars. If you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable place with genuinely warm service and a fantastic location near the beach, this is definitely a spot worth considering. I appreciate the hospitality and will likely be back again!
