I decided to check out after coming back from dinner because the experience was horrible. I couldn’t sleep at all. We could hear the people in the room next door as if they were in our own room. The window where the air conditioner is installed is half open, the smell is disgusting, and the bathtub is dirty. I’m very disappointed.

There is no maintenance or housekeeping help after day hours. If something is missing or broke you need to wait until the next day. The phone in our room 138 was not connected and there was no phone jack in the room. The front desk did not know how to respond when we took the phone down to them and advised we were unable to call them. The TV did not work and had to be reprogramed and signed in by the staff before it would work. The bathroom had shampoo, shampoo and conditioner with no body wash. The resolution was to write body wash in pen on one of the shampoo bottles. They must also use the hotel for low-income families because several guests definitely lived there. The second day there, we had no hot water at all. The front desk acted like the establishment does not fix things quickly or correctly so that was disappointing. The hotel is very run down and worn everywhere and it shows. If they are renovating it is not obvious or looking updated or new. Our bathroom door could not be closed because the screws were stripped on the top door hinge. There is a security officer on duty day and night which made us feel nervous that it was not a safe area to be in. Very disappointed in the whole experience with this place and how no one cared about the complaints or the guests.

I love Long Beach! I typically come from the city for the day but on special occasions we spend the night. I have stayed at Long Beach Hotel at least three times over the years. The location is fantastic and yes the rooms are rundown but I have never seen bugs etc in the room. My husband and I checked in for a romantic weekend without our child. Upon check in I noticed the vibe was different. There was a security guard in the lobby. There were also people outside the hotel in the lobby and walking around the hallways that did not look like guests staying for a beach weekend. I later learned that this hotel houses low income people in need short term housing. I support this policy and feel like sometimes people need help and i am grateful these services exist. My issue is disclosure. I feel like the hotel should have disclosed to me that I would be spending $350 a night to stay in a quasi homeless shelter. I could have decided if this was something i was comfortable with given the price point and occasion. Needless to say I was disappointed with my experience and I will not be back.

I enjoyed my stay here. It’s a nice hotel that is in walking distance of the beach. It’s perfect place to stay for a beach getaway. I thought the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. I felt very safe here too. If I come back to Long Beach, I’d definitely stay here.

A Warm, Welcoming Stay Near the Beach This was my second stay at the Long Beach Hotel, and once again, what stood out most was how accommodating and welcoming the staff is. The customer service and the charisma of the staff are honestly what keeps bringing me back. Everyone is friendly, and you’re always greeted when they see you, which gives the hotel such a warm, personal feel. The rooms are comfortable and surprisingly spacious, especially considering the affordable price point. While the hotel doesn’t have many onsite amenities beyond coffee and bagels, that honestly isn’t a dealbreaker for me. Being just a block from the beach makes up for it! I brought my teenage boys with me this time, and they especially enjoyed chatting with the security staff each day. The security team took the time to get to know them, and my boys will definitely miss those conversations. That kind of genuine interaction really made our stay feel more personal. The biggest downside for me was the smell of weed in the hallway during our stay, which was unpleasant. However, my room always smelled nice.I also wish the hotel had a gym onsite. Overall, I’d give the Long Beach Hotel 4 out of 5 stars. If you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable place with genuinely warm service and a fantastic location near the beach, this is definitely a spot worth considering. I appreciate the hospitality and will likely be back again!

It appears that this property has had some upgrades as of late but many many more are needed. Could hear every word our neighbors spoke through the cheap door separating our rooms. Common areas were rough and hopefully you don't end up on the unfavorable side of the property.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and kind! The only concern I had was our sink not draining for the duration of the stay. Also, the elevator was very outdated. The parking is a toss-up, I recommend doing valet!!! I would come again just to see the staff though, wonderful crew!

I liked that the Long Beach Hotel was in town so it was convenient to other restaurants and bars. Our room was big with two King beds, not what we anticipated, had been recently renovated, but the stairway and antiquated elevator definitely showed need of upgrading. Up above our room someone was moving furniture or something all night long. So we didn’t get much sleep.

Issues with the stay at Long Beach Hotel Dates: 7/30 – 8/1 My stay at the Long Beach hotel was very disappointing. Reservations were for 2 rooms, 1 king size bed and two twin beds. The initial rooms reserved had several issues/concerns/complaints to the concierge. The rooms were change and considered an upgrade. The upgrades were again questionable and did not provide the services during my stay. Prior to my visit I checked with the hotel and Expedia to assure that the rooms were booked according to my request. Below are a list of my concerns: Bedroom 1 prior to room “upgrade” • No King size bed as requested and bathroom was extremely small (guest was large size person). Bedroom 1 “upgrade” • Upgraded Room - Toilet bowl was too low and close the wall. Water leaking behind the toilet (called for service no repair) • Bed was hard and uncomfortable Bedroom 2 prior to room “upgrade” No handicap assisted bathroom as requested, no safety bars Bedroom 2 “upgrade” • No handicap assisted bathroom as requested (Jacuzzi tub), no safety bars • Toilet too low, no stopper in sink, • Floors were old wood parquet floors and were extremely uneven in some areas. Balancing walking in the room was a challenge • Beds were on platforms and mattress hung over box frame. Bed was hard and uncomfortable • The door to the room swung outward not inward which is a fire safety hazard. • One bed was blocked by a wall preventing watching television Other concerns: The lobby had regular gu

Upon entering we noticed the bar area looked like it had been recently upgraded, but unfortunately besides that, we felt like we were in an undersized and sorely needed of an upgrade room. We had 2 double beds in our room and neither bed had full sized pillows- only small square throw pillows to sleep on. The TV never worked, the AC (window unit) was terrible. Our room was warm all night. The bathroom was probably the worst part. The tub looked like it hadn't been upgraded in years. The sink was maybe 18" wide x 18" deep and whenever you turned the water on you and everything around the sink, got soaked. It was very tight and tiny. The staff at the front desk did not direct us to which direction our room was in (there are 2 sets of elevators/stairs) so we went up the wrong set of stairs the first time with all of our luggage to the 3rd floor, to discover our room number did not exist and so we had to lug everything back downstairs to the other side of the building. All in all, for almost $300 for one night, we were dissatisfied given the room was not cheap, it wasn't "clean" and it was extremely tight and undersized (bathroom especially). Also, for 2 double beds in a room, you should be supplied with 4 towels, we were only given 2 and 2 washcloths. It is a bare bones room that you could survive the night in, but we won't stay again,

This property is not recently renovated as advertised. They may have slapped some new flooring and wallpaper in the lobby but the rooms are a mess. Bathrooms are in serious need of updating - including installing a sink that doesn’t soak you with water every time you turn it on. The hallways are extremely run down and gross. For $300 night the basic amenities and cleanliness should still be covered. I do not recommend staying here at all.
