"Our experience at Amainah was spectacular! The property is beautiful and clean. The view from our room just breath taking, from sunrise to sunset, with views of gleaming Moon. Everyone in their staff is courteous and truly want to make your stay unforgettable. We had very nice conversations with several of them, giving you recommendations what to see & where to eat around town. Speaking of food, we ate several times at their deck, enjoying drinks and the most beautiful view of the Lagoon, we tried different dishes and all were very good. Pulpo a las Brasas, one of the best I have eaten. If you are traveling to Bacalar, this Hotel should be on top of your list... Altamente Recomendado, gracias Amainah!"

"The hotel has a marvelous view from its prime location. However, it is in desparate need of repairs and maintenance. It is not as represented online. Steps were broken Room door is flimsy. This location should be removed from Expedia listing. It is an abandoned property as an online search will verify. "

"The hotel is remote, down a 2km dirt track road. This adds to the relaxation and "switch off" feeling. The property is right on the lagoon, so it is very beautiful and nice to be so close to the water. The kayaks are free to use. However, the hotel has only 1 restaurant and the menu is rather limited. Service was rather slow considering the place never had more than 4 tables for dinner service. Given that there are no other places to eat nearby and no hotel entertainment, evenings can feel a little slow. Our room was large and spacious with a large balcony. At times there was a bad smell coming from the sink, but other than that no complaints. I think this hotel is suited for maybe 2 nights, but we stayed for 4, which in hindsight felt too long. "
