My son and I were “stuck” in NYC for 2 nights due to the global internet fiasco. With literally no reasonably priced rooms with more than 1 bed, I used filters to drill down and found Pod. What a cool place!!! The location could not be better for the walking tourist, and the concept is genius. What a fantastic use of space and a focus on cleanliness. If I ever find myself in NYC, I won’t be looking for a place to stay, I’ll be staying at Pod.

It was a great place to stay-6 minutes from grand central everywhere was walkable. We had accessible restaurants and breakfast spots around the corner. We felt very safe. Would recommend

I often don't leave reviews for stays but this hotel was actually really amazing. Everyone is happy and eager to help. I couldn't really find a single flaw about this hotel and its services. Looking forward to staying at bigger rooms in the future!

Central location and large room. Easy access to subway and citi bikes. Appreciated the mini fridge and good AC. Front desk staff were very helpful throughout the whole stay and went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in midtown.

The staff are absolutely amazing! They go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable, know the area, well, and always full of great ideas.
Rooms were clean, recently, renovated, and spacious.
It was winter, so we could have the window open, but I can imagine a lack of AC being brutal during the summer.
We also had no housekeeping during our entire stay…While we’re not usually picky about it, it would’ve been nice to have been told this when we first checked in. There was only one small...

Easily walkable to/from Penn Station, Times Square etc. Staff were great, friendly and always willing to help. My only minor issue was the hotel is on a street that did not LOOK all that safe, it was dark and had some sketchy looking individuals. However I do want to stress that at no point was I worried something might occur, just be aware that it appears to look scarier than it is. We are spending another night in NYC after our cruise and I was hoping to stay here again, but unfortunately...

The best area to stay in Woodhaven is near Forest Park, particularly around the intersection of Forest Parkway and Jamaica Avenue.
This area offers a good balance of local amenities and access to green spaces. Jamaica Avenue is the main commercial thoroughfare, lined with shops, restaurants, and public transport options. Forest Parkway provides direct access to the park itself.
For families, staying close to Forest Park is ideal. The park offers extensive walking and cycling trails, playgrounds, and open spaces for outdoor activities. It's a pleasant environment for children to play, and the nearby residential streets are generally quiet.
Couples looking for a relaxed stay will also appreciate this location.
When is the best time to go to Woodhaven?
The best time to go to Woodhaven is during the spring (late April to early June) and autumn (September to October) months.
These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures and less humidity than the summer. You'll find it ideal for exploring Forest Park or enjoying the local eateries without the intense heat or the chill of winter. It's a great time for couples or solo travellers who enjoy walking and outdoor activities.
Summer, particularly July and August, can be quite hot and humid, which might be less comfortable for extended outdoor exploration. While there are local events, the heat can be a deterrent for some.
Winter, from November to March, brings colder temperatures and the possibility of snow. While it can be picturesque, it's not ideal for those looking to spend a lot of time outside.
