"The hotel is in a good location, and there is a really nice walking trail right around the property. The rooms are a bit dated and on the small side, but overall we enjoyed our stay."

"Beautiful property. Very very nice inside and out. Quiet and comfortable. Very close to the volcano and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed an extra day. Spend a day and evening at the volcano and another down to the ocean and sites along the way. A great home base for an adventurous family, play hard all day and relax for the evening in comfort. We have been traveling for a week so the washer/dryer in the attached garage was timely. Wouldn’t hesitate to return here in the future.Thank you. Don and Catherine"

"This is an OK place if you're not looking for everything up to date and sleek. They provided breakfast fixing but we brought our own and left most of theirs untouched. The property is secluded and quiet as long as fellow travelers are quiet. nicely decorated and close to the National Park. a big plus"

"This hotel is more like a rental house than typical hotel. There are only eight or so rooms and each one has nice views with privacy. There is no staff on site but you can contact them is needed. I would stay here again. One thing to consider, you are 30 minutes from most services. If you don’t mind that and want something quiet this is a great option."

"Cute mom-and-pop property in a great location near Volcanoes National Park. It felt more like staying in a little house in the rainforest than a hotel. A little rustic, but in a good way. Hearing the birds and other animals at night made it really special. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!"

"The owners (different than the host) are the best! They made sure that we have everything we need to make our stay comfortable and stress-free as our house in Ka’u was damaged by Hurricane Lala. The Nene Room was beautiful, clean and peaceful with its large picture window overlooking the serene forest. We also stayed in Gecko room that has one bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The Gecko room is comfortable and perfect for family and longer stays. The surrounding is quiet and close to stores, restaurants, and very close proximity to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park."
