"Fantastic friendly service. Big bedroom and bathroom, all very clean. The only slight criticisms would be that the curtains are white and very thin so the room was very light from 5:30am making it hard to sleep. There was also no mirror in the room however front desk staff quickly rectified this by allowing us to take the mirror hung in the corridor, I would recommend leaving that mirror in the room (Room 2). Fantastic value in a grand hotel building
"This is a wonderful, grand, historic building and retains the ambience of Victorian grandeur, even though there are a few scuffs and scrapes and rusted ironwork!. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and efficient and this was the case with all staff that we encountered including the breakfast staff. The room was beautifully decorated and fitted and was very comfortable with all amenities that you could want. Lots of sockets by the bed as well. Our room benefitted from a superb sea view. The breakfast was very good, though veggie/vegan sausages would have been a welcome addition. For the price we paid, this hotel was an absolute bargain and we would love to return here again. Perfect location for anyone visiting Plymouth."
