Nice and easy! The location was very easy to find, parking out the front (although not alot so might struggle if it’s busy). They called in advance to ask if we wanted food as we arrived later than expected which was fantastic service. Check in was very prompt and easy! Nice clean simple rooms! Exactly what we needed for a good nights stay, good tea and coffee facilities and they provided a flask of milk which was lovely as normally you get those horrible UHT things. Great shower! Quite a homely little place, everything was a little crooked or slightly uneven but that’s the characteristics of the building! The stairs leading upto the rooms could do with a clean but I understand your in a rural area so that’s to be expected! Overall I was very happy would recommend and will potentially look to stay there again if we are down that neck of the woods. If your fussy and are looking for the four seasons then not for you but if you want some where clean, comfy, easily accessible and a great price then I would highly recommend. Beds were average, shower was good. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t fantastic, we paid £120 for one night stay with breakfast but not sure it’s quite worth that to be honest. Generally a place I'd recommend if holidaying and you've got nowhere to be in the morning. Check-in was friendly, in fact the staff were excellent all through, the room was comfortable although being on a main road it is noisy if you want windows open, bathroom basic, dinner was great with a good menu and wide choice and finally there was a good atmosphere in the bar. What I don't think is acceptable is selling b&b packages when they won't serve breakfast before 9.00am. I've been staying in hotels 3 nights a week for over 20 years and never come across this. And they don't warn you before arrival. To the owners, 9.00am is too late, most establishments are winding up breakfast by 9.00 not just starting it! My understanding was that night all guests were leaving before breakfast. Their solution to this is to make a bacon or sausage sandwich and leave it outside your door the night before. I requested they let me know when it was delivered so I could at least get it off the floor and into my room. The staff were helpful and friendly- I had an awkward request about breakfast and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. The pub itself is an ordinary village pub - it didn’t look its best for me, in the dark and the pouring rain!
