The owner of the Saugatuck Retro Motel was very helpful and friendly and gave us some good advice on local dining and parking. The room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. The grounds are especially beautiful, serene, quiet, and park like. Highly recommend

Sadly I was unable to swim but..
An amazing stay that we hope to reurn for longer next year. Great location close to the strip, wonderful property with everything we could have wanted. Climate was great, good people, nice fire. Rooms are modern and well equipped.

I thought that I was getting a room with a king sized bed but did not. The only chairs to sit in within the room are lawn chairs. Low water pressure and not enough hot water in the morning to shower comfortably. No morning coffee available until 9 a.m., we had to drive to the gas station. The bed was comfortable, but I probably won't return.

I am not sure how you "thought" you were getting a king room when you booked a queen room. Yes, we have folding chairs under your bed to allow guests who don't wish to sit in the room more space. You failed to mention there are a pair of Adirondack chairs right in front of your room on you own patio which is where most guests typically like to sit. Sounds like we were not the right fit for you. Thanks for staying with us!

Room was okay. Very nice pool. Property had large trees and a beautiful park-like area with a nice fire pit and seating for a dozen or so people. Conveniently located a short drive (under 10 minutes) to Saugatuck and Douglas. Lots of things to do nearby.

Awesome motel! I haven’t stayed in a motel in 40plus years and Saugatuck Retro Resort is definitely the place to be! Rob is a great guy and his hospitality was flawless.

The experience from beginning to end was very enjoyable. Retro Rob was the BEST host EVER! He was super nice, accommodating and gave really good suggestions as far as dining was concerned. Even directed me to a great local shop for shoes, since my husband only packed dress shoes...this was an immediate need. Planning on returning as soon as I can!

Great value, clean room, friendly staff, nice grounds. Bathroom very small but managed. Told morning coffee available but there wasn’t. Not a deal breaker-just don’t offer it if you can’t get fulfill. Definitely would recommend despite minor issues.

Little Hidden Gem
This hotel takes you back to the 1950's. The pool area is gorgeous, and there is a large fire pit adjacent that we also took advantage of. All the rooms are small, but they have been completely redone and are very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Updated motel. The owner, Retro Rob, was very helpful with places to eat and hikes to take. Room was clean. Pool area was nicely landscaped, lots of seating, and beach towels to use. Fire pit area, basketball hoop, shuffle board. Motel is on the main road and convenient. Biggby coffee shop right down the street.
