When is the best time to go to Old St Mellons?

The best time to visit Old St Mellons is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) months. During these periods, you'll generally find pleasant weather, with moderate temperatures and less rain than in the peak summer or winter months. This makes it ideal for exploring the local area and enjoying outdoor activities. The countryside around Old St Mellons is particularly attractive with blooming flowers in spring or the changing colours of the leaves in autumn. For those planning to visit local attractions or enjoy walks in the surrounding Welsh countryside, these shoulder seasons offer comfortable conditions without the larger crowds that sometimes accompany the summer holidays.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel’s cancellation deadline – this is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. If you have a non-refundable booking, it might still be possible to receive a refund if you cancel it within 24 hours of booking. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use our "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right Old St Mellons hotel for you.

10/10 Excellent

"Short comfortable stay didn’t use the facilities"

The Coach & Horses Hotel

8/10 Good

"I stayed for one night on a work trip, so spent very little time in the hotel. I arrived at around 8:30pm, the person on reception was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and it was a good price. I left at 8am the following morning and didn't have time for breakfast. I would stay there again as I was happy with the facilities, which met my needs perfectly."

The Coal Exchange Hotel

8/10 Good

"I had booked two rooms for two nights in this beautiful historic building which is less than a 10 minute walk to the bay. The reception staff and the two ladies overseeing in the dining room when we had breakfast were all lovely and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble with queries and requests. Unfortunately mine and my partner's room could have been cleaner in places i.e. in the bathroom for example the base of the sink tap was filthy which I cleaned along with some other areas. Unfortunately the wet room is stained in places. There was also a patch of stained carpet by the window. One of the cups and one of the glasses had not been washed or not checked thoroughly and also the kettle was dusty. I did not raise this at the hotel as we were overall pleased with our stay but my sister did raise the issue with the window in her bathroom which was resolved very quickly. Hopefully this is not reflective of the hotel as I would not hesitate booking there again but just a thorough check and proper deep clean of our room prior to our arrival would have enabled me to give top marks."

Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor

8/10 Good

"Very clean room, very comfortable bed. Bathroom is lovely and shower is great. Hallways are a little dated decor wise but apart from this all good. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Over night car park charge of £16. Did not dine in restaurant on this occasion or use the leisure facilities as we’re visiting friends. Would happily stay again."
