Having never been to the area before, I realized later that there are places that we almost booked that would've been very far from the places we wanted to see. This location was just right - close to Oak Hill and Fayetteville for shops/dining, and 10 minutes or so to the New River Gorge Bridge. We did several hikes, using the house as a "base camp" and it worked out perfect.
