Receptionist very nasty. Arguing with Customers and with me.no hot water ,very tiny TV not Bell boyh small bed calling queen bed,very small room not towels.thank you.

The hotel staff was great. Most spoke some English. I chose an economy room and that is what I got. Thought I was getting a room sale but not so. I will stay there again because of the central area but upgrade the room. The first night I had hair and crumbs on the sheets and they needed to be changed which was willingly done. WI-FI was not always great sometime the signal strength was poor.

Not bad, not great
I booked a cheap room on line. However, when I got there, it had no windows and was bleak in character. So l asked for a room with a window. It was upstairs and twice the price, but not too expensive. The double bed was extremely comfortable and the hot shower ok. In the room where some furniture components that you could put together, like a quiz, to make a bench or something. I didn't manage to work it out. Breakfast was fine, different each day, but, typical for the area, the coffee was only coffee by name. It was basically a warm fluid. There was a guy at reception who was great. Clear and quick. The others, not so. On one occasion l was up and down stairs to reception four times for a lack of basic communication. But then l should learn spanish. The hotel is right in the centre of a very interesting part of town and right next door to a convenience store. But the area is very noisy during the day (street stalls etc) and renovations on the building next door began around 8 am. The elevator is an experience in itself. Like a clunky prison door slamming you into a tiny room. Quite entertaining.

Great central location, helpful, friendly staff
We had a wonderful time at this very quirky location. The beds were comfortable, which was all we really needed, privacy and comfort. The biggest problem we had was with the wifi, I wish the connection was stronger. We loved the staff, German was the best, as well as the gentleman that kept the rooms stocked and cleaned.

It was great, great location just one block from the zócalo. Only downfall, was that they ran out of fans and the room was too hot. We stayed 4 nights, wish they would have had a fan for us.

Hotel is on a very busy street, only foot traffic though. Extremely loud area, lots of shouting by street salesman who work literally right outside the lobby door. From 7am to 8pm don't expect to take a nap.

Felt Terrified and was charged double.
The location was central to cathedral and federal buildings, but terrifying in the evening. It was very scary and the doors to the hotel had to be kept locked. The taxi driver informed us that people would get assaulted in that area.

Hostel close to the Zocalo.
We got two rooms. One was on the first floor and reeked of sewer. It was unbearable. After a little pressure, they let us change rooms up a floor with a window for circulation and that was much better. Our other room was ok. Rooms were clean and had supplies, but the sheets were questionable.

great location!!
Although the hotel moved us after two nights the room they gave us was not acceptable for anyone to stay in. We have traveled in Mexico many times (including once to this same hotel) and understand the differences from travel in Can. and US but this was disgusting little room with no window/no tv/it smelled like the sewer was in the room and no wifi. the location can't be beat for the price but I would not accept a room on the bottom floor.

GREAT location but nothing more
The room smelled lke sewer ,pillows way to hard, we had a rom with a view of he street which was Intrestiing but very very loud all day as vindors yelling selling things all day. The positive is the location is amazing. I migh stay there again just because of he location and cheap

Quaint budget hotel in the center of town.
While this place is decent enough, it is still a no-frills budget hotel. The condition of the hotel is ok but not nearly as nice and new as the pictures appear. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke English well, so I didn't need to struggle through my mediocre Spanish skills. Overall, for the price, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for luxury, keep looking. If you want a clean, budget friendly hotel then this place is a good option.

Worse hotel stay
Please, save yourself a living nightmare at this hostel! Room looked and felt dirty. Shower was very difficult to operate. Window was broken , so a bunch of mosquitos flew right inside bathroom/room. My daughter"s face had llike 10 mosquito bites. Everyday we smelled the sewer pipes, it was so gross! I won't recommend this hostel to anyone. First floor rooms 1-3, Lots of noise too from the lobby, it was like an echo!

Staff is very polite, helpful. Great location. 4th floor gets noisy in the Morning while they set up breakfast. other than that no complaints.

Great hotel by El Zocalo
I haven't been to Mexico in 11 years and my parents were born here. We frequented Mexico when I was younger and I was so happy with the location of this hotel. Mexico is just as beautiful as I remember it being. The location of the hotel is perfect. You are located steps from el zocalo and madero street is about five minutes away which is full of restaurants and shops. The mirador torre Latino the skyscraper lookout is at the end of madero street as it the famous palacio de Bella's artes. The metro is also steps from the hotel should guests feel the need to use Mexico City's popular for of transportation. When I come back I'm definitely staying here again. The hotel staff are so sweet and helpful specially when helping you book their tours (which they have many). The gentleman who cleans the rooms is such a sweetheart and I will remember all the stories I was blessed to hear from him. Staying here you truly get the essence of what Mexican culture is about.

Good location & Nice staff but that's it
Room wasn't nice, was not cleaned properly, fan was broken and very dusty, broken restroom door, ceiling had a hole, walls wallpaper was half rip apart. Housekeeping staff was not notify that I was in the room & that I had a little later check out...was woken up very early morning & then the housekeeper came around again at c/o time... however guess there's no much to be expected per the pricing - The owners are lucky they are very well located & that the staff is very friendly but yes this hotel needs a renovation immediately

Right in the central mexico city area 2 min walk
Overall minor road closure due to festival made it harder for us to find the hotel. For what the room costs it was fine. We were only there for 2 days. Spending minimal time in the room. Next door to a exxo was great. 2 min walk to metropolitian cathedral and the heart of mexico city. Starbucks close by along with lots of restaurants. Booth for tours a 5 min walk away or can get them directly through hotel lobby. Must say the man working the front desk was amazing and helped us with any issues we had. This is a private room hostel type feel. But overall was not bad! I would stay there again for other short visits. No AC so can be warm, we had a fan and was just fine. For the cost of the room you cant complain!

Heart of the city hotel
Hotel is centrally located. Within walking distance to museums, Templo Meyor (Aztec ruins), etc. The room was very quiet, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included, lots of fruits, cereals, Mexican hot foods. It was excellent!

Next to the zocola
A very old hotel 'under reconstruction'. My room was an internal box. Clean and functional and I suppose worth the cheap cost. Entrance lobby very shabby. Restaurant was very basic on the roof. Beside the Zocola opposite the historic palace. Eerie at night! Staff very helpful and welcoming.

great location and staff
we stayed here for the location but found the employee's to be the best we have encountered on all our travels . the hotel is very basic and plain, but is only 1.5 blocks from subway wand Zacalo square in the heart of centro historica . this is a close to a hostel as you can get. the bed was comfy and the room was very clean with daily maid service. the breakfast free was good but only serviced between 8am and 10am . we are early bird's and were gone way before breakfast expect for the last day . yes we do recommned yes we would stay here again

One of the closest hotels to Mexican Zocalo
Well it's more than a cheap hotel, front desk were very polity and helpful, the hotel facilities are great, the only problem that I found is that the floor were I was had maintenance issues so was not A/C in my room, beyond that was a placed stayed.

Great location, but that's it!
Hotel staff not willing to solve their problems. Wanted to change our room but for a charge. The first rooms cold water didn't work. The staff changed us to another room while we were out, and that second room had no hot water. Very loud as well; very thin walls. And the rooms had NO window, NO AC, NO fan!

Good Hotel, Excellent Location
This hotel is a good middle between a hostel and a higher end hotel. Its location in the Zocalo is basically the best an adventurous traveler can ask for, right between the main cathedral, palace, and Templo Mayor ruins, next to a 7/11 convenient store and 100 meters from Mexicos City Metro system which is as effective and safe as many parts of the United States. The Hostel can get loud at night, has wifi that goes on and off. The beds are moderately comfortable.

Nice, cheap and has essentials
The room is simple. No such thing as iron or hair dryer. Staff is very nice and helpful. Locations is great! you can walk to many places or take the metro. If you are looking for cheap and convenient you got it!

I booked a room with a queen bed. when I got there they gave me A room with two twin bed next to the reception desk, which was not to my liking. On the next day before 6:00am people on reception were too loud that keep me awake. additionally; the safe in the room was not working.

We had the economy room (next the reception). Being next to the reception was loud, but after a long day of touring the city the noice was mearly nothing. Perfect place if youre looking for a comfortable bed to sleep and a warm shower especially location.

Affordable hotel with a great location
It is a very convenient hotel for someone who wants to save money and does not need luxurious accommodations, but wants to ensure a good location. The hotel is simple but provides all the necessary points. It is a walking distance of the metro station, and historic center, with all the stores restaurants and historic buildings so it provides the opportunity for nice walks. During the day, the area is quite noisy, since there are a lot street vendors close to the hotel, but they all clear by nightfall. It is a very convenient place for someone who plans to spend the day on tours or sightseeing around the town. The staff is very friendly, and always willing to provide advice on how to move in town.

The hotel is located close to the most important places is not a 5 stars hotel but is ok to sleep. The room did not have fans and it was hot.
