The decor suited the name of the hotel! Staff was very friendly, accommodating and courteous. Parking was convenient.

Beautiful property, definitely would recommend.

The north end of Halifax is enjoying a renaissance and small restaurants, coffeehouses and interesting shops are plentiful. Larger buildings (condos, offices and stores) are now built where dilapidated houses once stood. It is an enjoyable area and very different from the touristy downtown. The small hotel property is split into 2 sections but not directly connected. It is a conversion from a brewery so ceilings are high. There are no elevators, so one must climb 19 steps to floor 2, and about the same to floor 3. The rooms are styled in a boutique fashion. The bed arrangement could present a problem for some: the bed is on a platform about 1 foot from the floor. It is necessary to shimmy up the bed or move on hands and knees. There are glasses, plates, cutlery and a refrigerator. While there is a 2 burner hot plate and a dishwasher there were no cooking vessels or dishwasher soap so if you need either ensure you ask. Should we back in Halifax we would stay again.

This was our second hotel in this chain we stayed at and it too was excellent. My only complaint was the cool light LEDs in our room and the breakfast area. Warm whites are SO much better.
