Great stay , nice hotel
Golden week, Hotel is busy. Staff come out to guide guest at carpark . Nice gesture. many combini nearby for snacks and drinks.. There is a izakaya 100m across the road . Its a on the 2nd floor of the building . Name is 根五稜郭店。 It was my worst izakaya experience in Japan in 15 years , DO NOT go there.. the shop was not super busy, but we waited for the food till we fell asleep. and the price charged was not as advertised on the board. we also realised that the menu has no price. We ended up overpaying for mediocre food and wasted our evening there. would suggest hotel guest to walk around neighbour for better choice of dinner.

Service and cleanliness are excellent. Only within walking distance of the one tourist attraction, but is more than enough. Very near public transport. Hakodate as a whole is not people friendly in winter. Everyone (including the locals) slip all over the paths due to no maintenance of them. You have been warned.

Exactly what it needed to be, a clean, well potioned hotel. Only well potioned within one tourist attraction, but in Hakodate that is more than enough. Public transport

Hotel leans towards the local business traveller but a good share of DIY tourist from Taiwan. The breakfast spread is great! If you need a haircut, theres a salon nearby called Soho. Best haircut I've ever had. As always, use a language app to get effective comms going.

Although Hokke Club is a chain in Japan, this particular location in Hakodate definitely exceeded the expectations of being a chain hotel. Rooms were large by Japanese standards and though the furniture was a bit dated, the onsen definitely was the highlight. Nothing beats soaking in a hot bath after a day spent outside in below freezing temperatures. The breakfast spread was surprisingly vast - it was comparable to any five-star hotel and was as delicious. Staff were friendly and pleasant, as expected from Japanese hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel next time I'm in Hakodate!

I got caught in the Hokkaido earthquake while staying here. Despite the power outage, the staff made the difficult effort of preparing breakfast for all of the hotel guests, which helped reduce worries about where too get food for the coming days. The staff was also helpful and understanding when I had to change plans suddenly.

Clean, Comfortable and Great Value
The hotel is very close to a bus and rail car stop making it convenient and cheap to both get from and to the rail station and around town. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the free breakfast was terrific. I highly recommend this hotel for those on business or vacation.

Nice and reasonably priced.
In Hakodate, you need your own rental car or else it's more difficult to get around as everything is far apart, however, driving in Winter in Hakodate is superbly challenging. You will feel like you are in Tokyo drift the movie. Hotel has a nice public bath that we ended up using daily as we are not used to Japan's bathroom size. I didn't eat anything in the hotel so couldn't tell you about the food. I stop using hotel's free internet from this point forward as they have been massively disappointing considering Japan supposedly to be one of the fastest internet speed in the world.

Priced right Value for Money.
This is a Hotel Hokke Club....Hotel. With all the features you expect from this chain. While it is away from the main train station, it is a very nice value for Money Hotel. The tram runs past the door. With plenty of food establishments close at hand. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. Positioned high above the city there are nice views from the rooms. Service was excellent. The public bath facilities are excellent. Generally a good value for money Hotel.

Hotel Hokke Club was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the on-site hot spring bath was great to relax in after a long day of travel. The breakfast buffet is really good as well!

Take the trolley.
The trolley from Hakodate station stops about 1-1/2 blocks from the hotel, so no need for a taxi. Be sure to add the breakfast to your reservation - the buffet is an incredible value for the money, and a great way to start a day of sightseeing! You're less than a mile from Goryokaku, 20 minutes by trolley to the onsens at the eastern end of the line, and 15-20 minutes from Hakodate station, the red brick warehouses, Mt. Hakodate ropeway, and the old public hall.

Excellent Hotel
Large rooms by Japanese standards. Close to Goryokaku historical fort and tower. Easy access to centre via tram stop just outside hotel. Breakfast (Buffet) good value for 1296 yen.

This is our last minute hotel reservation because we were unable to get ticket to our planned destination. We checked in very late and had a wonderful onsen. Surprisingly the following morning we had a wonderful breakfast. This turned out to be the best breakfast in our 3 trips to Japan.

Value for money and great location.
Just minutess away from the famous Goryokaku tower. Also surrounded by many local restaurant and convenient store. Although the room was a little bit small but you got everything you need in the room. You can't really go wrong with Hotel Hokke Hakodate. By the way, the view from 11th floor where I stayed was fantastic!

High CP except breakfast, which was quite disappointing. No Katsugen (Hokkaido drink), Ikameshi, and Gesoage. Special local (non-Hakodate or Hokkaido) food, which they change every month was not even worth trying. I still wonder what it was. Since you only get one chance to tourists, and for me, at least, not breakfast at this hotel. This hotel reminded me of Granvia @Umeda, hence, very good value, but maybe cuz it's Hakodate. Again, easy repeat and recommended w/o breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Hokke Club Hakodate. The staff were always so welcoming and polite and we had a beautiful view of the Goryokaku Tower. We purchased our accommodations with breakfast, which was a Japanese/Western buffet. It included local seafood and recipes which were fresh and delicious! If we were to visit Hakodate again, we would definitely consider staying here again as well as purchasing breakfast.

i booked the hotel because of a review about being able to see goryokaku park at night from the hotel room. but not for me! i could only see the tower. it's close to the tram stop and convenience stores. i didn't use the public bath as the water is not natural spring water. i had lunch buffet there but food is just ok. the hotel really sticks to their check -in policy. i finished my lunch there at 1pm and asked if i can check in earlier, only 1 hr early. but still told me to come back at 2pm.

Near Fort Goryokaku
We arrived at the hotel late, but is was no problem, as we can take a tram from Hakodate station and arrive at Goryokaku stop, and then walk short distance to the right. The hotel is located at the busy business street, you can travel to any part of Hakodate by tram. Hakodate station can be reached by tram, the station is just opposite the morning market, and a bus service there connect you to Mt Hakodate for the night view. Near Fort Goryokaku, it is a stroll away.

クチコミ通り、朝食バイキングはちょこちょこと種類が多く、美味しいです。 海鮮ミルフィーユという、ヨーグルト瓶のような瓶に、全て細かく刻んだ生鮭やマグロがキュウリや錦糸卵などと段々に重ねてあり、朝からミニ海鮮丼も作れてしまいます。石狩鍋や、ザンギ、クリームシチュー、コーンスープなど北海道らしい食材や料理も数種類あり、中華粥や麻婆豆腐まであります。パンやヨーグルト、ミニデサートも数種類あり、指定牧場の牛乳もあります。 主要な料理の説明パネルも良い感じです。ホットドリンク類は紙コップに蓋を付けて部屋に持ち帰りも出来ます。 広い会場ではないですし、高級感があるわけではありませんが、朝からお腹いっぱい満足出来るところです。 朝食スタッフの方々も、あいさつやお見送りなど、テキパキと明るく爽やかに対応していただけるので、とても感じが良いです。 フロントも明るく爽やかで優しい雰囲気の方が多くて好感が持てます。荷物の預かりも、スムーズに対応していただけますし、札幌駅から近いのでチェックアウト後も◯ 部屋はビジネスホテルの老舗だけあって、古さや傷みなど気になる方はあるかもしれませんが値段的には相応かと。 大型の差し込み式加湿器が常備されていてありがたいです。（注水はセルフです） 部屋にトイレ付きのシャワーバス（バス狭め）はありますが、共同の大浴場が人工温泉ですがあります。男女別で一つずつ。お肌も良好、人工温泉ですが短時間でも疲れが取れて温かさも長続きします。 コインランドリーは小さいですが洗濯機と乾燥機が2つずつあります。 近辺は歩いて行ける飲食店も多数あります。地下街もあったり、札幌駅やバスターミナルも歩いて行ける距離ですし、総じてほど良いところだと思います。
